Just watching it on fox, looks like a small plane or helicopter has hit a building in Manhattan.

They're saying they don't think it's terrorist related, but there has been a scramble of fighter jets over a few large US cities:

No kidding. I have been finding that I hear about current events faster on JW.net than ever before.

cnn just reported that the plane belonged to the yankees' cory lidle.

apparently he was onboard with his instructor. both were killed. terrible.

EDIT> um they think it was only him on board now... CNN "breaks" news in a pretty unprofessional way sometimes.

wow....i just heard 4 confirmed dead, 2 in plane and 2 in theapartment....

Bad pilot or genuine accident I think.
I don't think a random appartment complex is exactly a high valued target, so I tend to agree with you.

This is just some jackoff that either didn't know what he was doing and crashed the plane, .... Or just some jackoff that wanted to go out with a bang and make the news. If that wass the case, he was also a coward as he picked some appartment building instead of a large building downtown.

Either way, he's an asshole.

Unless he had a heart attack or something that he couldn't control while flying the plane. In that case I take back everything I just said and forgive him.

Holy shit. . . he pitched for the A's a few years ago. Wow. . . I hope it didn't have anything to do with the Series lost in the play offs last week.

Man. This sucks.

There's another topic about this in the sports and fitness section. That one must be a stan.

A horrific crash. I feel sorry for the folks in the apartment building. It must have been horrifying, especially post-9/11
