Yay. New Card

I needed a new card. My comp is fairly old now. Anybody with and AGP board, needs a new card, and want to spend under $170 should go for this card. I picked it up form Tiger Direct for $134 after rebate. Steal as far as I am concerned. It has 256 mb of 256 bit RAM and is factory overclocked to 370mhz core and 1100 memory.

I dont have any benchmark utilities installed other than I can gun HL2 anc CS:Source at perfectly smooth frame rates with AA and AF maxed out...@ 1280 x 1024 (my monitor limitation)

I need more RDRAM....somebody gotta ~4 year old Dell 8200 and want sell your PC800-40 RDRAM... :) I NEED IT BADLY

My system is an ancient:
Socket 478 P4 2.4 533 fsb
512 MB PC800 RDRAM
....the new vid card of course
.... and 70+ gigs of car videos

i'm going to tell you a secret.... it isn't actually factory O/C'd like they want you to think it is.... but.... its a wonderful video card, and i love it... i have yet to meet a game that it doesn't match at full res, and 4x anti-ailasing... of course, the newest game i have is GTR 2...

Well, the standard AGP 6800 GS is clocked at 350 mhz core and 1000 mhz memory

I used RivaTuner to check the core clock and attempt to unlock an extra quad. RivaTuner clocked the core at 373 mhz and the memory at 1100 mhz right out of the box. Im not sure if other card makers fall back on the "OC" promise, but this one seemed legit.

P.S...unlocking the extra quad caused errors and artifacts....havnt tried to manually max out overclocking yet....too scared :(

BFG are legit for sure, and; its nvidia, its solid as a rock... you'll just notice when its too much whent eh frame rate freezes (but usually doesn't crash the computer) no biggie

Just bad luck there. I bought the same card a bit over a month ago and was able to unlock all of the extra shader units with no problems.

It's a great card for sure, noticably more stable and faster than my old 9800pro, and having SM3.0 support is great 8)

6800GS or 7800GS?

I use this for direct comparisons...

Oh whoops, wasn't paying attention to the BFG part.
