They say the oil from the K&N standard filters can foul a MAS. M5 guy got about 10bhp out of the filter:

I need to replace the 911's K&N, it's got damage on it from something. It's got a MAS aftermarket kit on it, and if the oil is not good for it, I'd like to use this dry filter.

I have first hand seen 2 M5s get their air flow meters get fouled by the oil charged filters, so if you can get a dry filter, go for it. Just make sure that you have a way to keep water out of the intake, wether it be with a baffle of some kind or a filter sock.
