Hi guys,

I'm back from my 3 weeks holiday in the states.
We arrived at San Francisco and moved on to Santa Monica (L.A.) before heading inland to visit Joshua Tree, Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Monument Valley, Natural Bridges, Canyonlands, Arches, Capitol Reef, Bryce, Zion, Las Vegas, Death Valley, Yosemite and back to San Francisco.

A preview of unedited pics can be found over here http://www.dnpproductions.be/usa/

Enjoy!

that was GREAT p_zero! thanks a lot for sharing... as surprising as it is, I've never made it that far west before, great photos, and it looks like you had a great time :)

what lens were you using, im assuming a wide angle of some sort... as the maserati was distorted significantly; but the massive architecture/lanscapes etc. were wonderful with it.

Looks like an awesome trip! Did you drive down the coast on HWY 1? I see that you visited the Getty Museum. How did you like it?

I gotta say it looks awesome, I love Cali.....but all these Americans seem to hate on California??? If I picked a place to live in the states it would be far west. Juts looks cool.

Awesome pictures man. It makes a very good snap shot. Glad you enjoy the US.

Yosemite is so green this time of year. And San Francisco is definitely one of the greatest cities in the world :).

How was the Buick :D ?

Amazing trip - you certainly seen more national parks in one trip than most Americans would have seen in their lifetime :)

Awesome pics! Thanks for sharing.

Sooooo true. 90% of the people here in the Bay Area doesn't even know where Yosemite is. Then again, my first time was only last year and since then I've been back twice :D.

My basic kit is a D70 with 18-70 kit lens but some of the pictures, like the gransport spyder, are taken with my Nikon E4300 compact camera. After a day of hotel visiting on the strip I was tired of carrying the D70 ;-)

We did the highway 1 from Monterey to Santa Maria. The scenery is great although it was quite foggy that day. The road is exciting, I'd love to drive there again with a more performance oriented car.
The Getty center in LA is a must see, even if you're not interested in the art the contemporary architecture of buildings and gardens is amazing and you have a great view of the city.

How was the Buick :D ?

Yosemite was our last NP and we were a little short on time so we only did the Mariposa Grove section with a hike to the sequoia trees.
The Buick Lucerne was fine for our kind of trip, when travelling 3668 miles in 3 weeks you enjoy comfort and fuel economy rather than handling and performance. Plenty of space in the boot was also a necessity to carry our two suitcases and ice chest.
Only the off road drive at Monument Valley was a bit of a problem

:)

I've started pshopping to straighten the horizons and correct other minor faults, once I'm done you'll see some high res pictures.
Thx for the response everyone!

P_Zerro_Rosso,

Man Oh Man, those pics are striiiiking !!! Really, I enjoyed watching your holiday impressions a lot.

What can I say ? ... First of all, I find your report interesting and very well done because there is big deversity in your pics. From snaps till very nice landscapes, my favourite landscape pic is one the canyon shots, it's the tenth of the GC pictures :-) Those colours are great and that picture got some nice depth.

It's so nice to have such high quality pictures to look back at your holiday !!!

Keep up the good work

Cheers
