Hey guys,

I was hoping to get some suggestions on increasing the value of a car for insurance purposes. A friend of mine totalled his TL and insurance is willing to cut him a check for it. We were wondering if any of ya'll had any ideas on how he could increase the value of his car. For example, someone told us that they showed recent receipts of their car having major mechanical work done and that helped them increase the value, unfortunately my friend cant do that seeing as how the car is under warranty, so that idea wouldnt make any sense. Anyways, anything ya'll can think of helps. thanks in advance.

Of course realising that any false claims of increased value will constitute insurance fraud ;)

Is the cheque for less than he owes? If he owns the car outright, then be sure to try establish the current value of the car by way of resale values or other data.

compare its value vs. retail prices of that model/year.

argue with the insurance company.

thats about it
