My buddy just got one of the first US spec 335i cars anywhere. He was lucky enough to be extra early because of living here in Germany. Here is a thread with his pics:

Weird, a US spec car in germany (clocks with mph, no regular german plates). Why didn't he want to wait?

Eurospec 335i, or is there no such car coming? I wouldn't want a US-spec car personally...

Well if you are an American you tend to buy American specs? I'll be more specific next time.
My Porsche is US spec yet I live Germany.

Still. Why? How much did he have to pay extra to get a US-Spec. Don't see the point in getting a US-spec in germany, for a lot of extra $$
But nice car, don't like the color, and I'd opt for different rims. But I'm sure it's a blast.

LotusGT1. I think you miss the point of being an American and buying a US spec car while living in Germany. First when we buy US spec as an American through a participating dealer we pay US dollar amount and not Euro. Second we get it tax free so we can save up to $7000+ as my friend did with this car. Third this allows us to travel back to the US with our cars without any import problems. There is no extra money as it's cheaper than a Euro priced car. :?:
As for the car it's quick, really quick those twin turbos do a nice number to the car.

This is the 3-series to get!
I did'nt know you could buy US spec cars in Europe and pay what you would pay in the US. Also great for when you move back to the US. So whats the deal? Do you just show up to the dealer and flash them your US Passport?
Now I really want to travel to Germany for work.

I forgot that as a military, you don't have to pay for things like taxes. I see the obvious deal now :)

Ha good work sure...at least we try our best. Not everything for us is tax free, we still have to pay the gov't taxes out of our paychecks  and local taxes for wherever we reside. It's probably more of a deal to make $$$ have us go back to the US talk about the programs so when new members get overseas they can then spend $$$ and the cycle continues. It's how I bought my car word of mouth about the program and then I planned accordingly. :D

Do they have after market LSD's for this car yet? And why aren't they in the US yet if they are already selling US spec cars over seas!!
