Hi,

I have found some onboard footage of the bad crash at the latest VLN-race.

All three top team (all porsches) crashed at almost the same time, due to an oil track. All three teams had to retire, these Porsche were severly damaged  :? :( The crash took already place during the second lap of the race :!:

The car you will be "sitting in" is the Land Motorsport Porsche GT3 RSR

Buckle up !!! http://20832.com/renn.tv/Alles_klar_Alter_Teil_2.wmv

Hi Davide,

No mate, no serious injuries, but cars were torn apart as especially the Land-motorsport Porsche. The Manthey (the one he bumps into) looked quite ok :| I haven't seen the Alzen one.

But indeed, the speeds they get up to are really impressive especially at that section. That's at the beginning of Flugplatz, besides the long straight (dottinger hohe) it's the fastest section on the Ring.

Always sad to see such a nice with that amount of damage

Wow, it looks like someone crashed already in that section. . . is that why he lost it?

Awesome speeds! Flugplatz always make me nervous in GT4 whenever i run it, so i can only imagine how nerve racking it can be IRL.

good thing he wasn't hurt.

LMAO though at his choice of words after telling the crew he wiped out there

No not really.
Because of the huge amount of competitors and lots of diffirent classes they start in three big groups. The fastest group starts first and the 1.6Liter class as last. One of these cars left an oil track. Due to, the driver didn't know he was losing oil he kept on driving on the ideal line with these three crashes as the result. The three cars where close together ... 2th lap of the race ... so the marchals were still looking for their yellow flag to warn the upcoming traffic. But to late for these three guys.

Indeed, the speed throught the corners is impressive.

Here is yet another video with some onboard footage shot from another car which passes the crash scene. There you can see the three Porsches.

F'ckin hell! What an impact!

This is the one thing that worries me when I drive on the ring. Even if you're the most prudent driver, there's no way to avoid a slide when there's oil on the track. Although there is a noticable trail of oil before the corner and the diver could have been more carefull. :?
