It says Paul Allen of MS. That picture of it in harbour has to be the ultimate "owned" picture.

damn, im glad bill gates knows of better ways to spend his $... 200 million for a yacht, and 20million maintenance etc. each year... that could keep thousands of refugees/AIDS orphans/other people in need alive... or you can spend it on a boat :)
seriously why on earth would you need a boat like this? truly the only purpose i see is to be able to say that you have the biggest private boat in the world

yup, Paul Allen... partner of Bill Gates in Microsoft.. he spends a few million each year just to keep it running.. (maitenence and salary for all of the crew members)
really makes you wish you invested your life savings in Microsoft back in the 80's doesnt it? :P

yeh i agree there are better ways to spend your money but when you have got the money there is no better way of showing off. it is the ultimate expression of wealth

its more then that.
welcome to the capitolist society. Eventually you have the potential to earn such money.... what do you do with it? I bet that Paul Allen spends 100 million a year on his own/various charities on top of it all.
you spend the money; you have so much that its impossible to spend it wreaklessly. When you spend it, you are literally giving thousands, tens of thousands of people jobs; and i say why not?
it is the same reason for owning an exotic car; besides the fact they are stupid fast, and amazing fun!

20 million a year just to keep the damn thing running is just crazy.
I’ve often wondered if I had money spilling out of my ass would I purchase these types of things. I don’t think I would.
its the largest on the water. but there are some in the building process that beat it. but thanks for the great info and pics.

Ive seen pictures of this boat before, its friggin awesome. Perfect for hostile corporate take overs at sea.
It would be nice to have the kind of money to own such a piece of equipment with a massive crew (like Paul Allen, some ex Navy Seals), tons of additional vehicles like choppers, small boats, subs, etc and to have the ability to just cruise the world and do whatever the hell you want. Would be fun.
Anyone read Clive Cussler? I am reminded of that type of scenario, sort of a James Bond at sea.

For that kinda money I'd buy every car I ever wanted and then purpose build a race track for myself and race them all on it all day everday.

Can I have a boat with 20,000hp please? hehehe :D
