Thanks guys - as for the 997TT, I love it in a way. Maybe because I drove the Ferrari and not the 997 I'm biased.....hope to find out one day. :D

Is there going to be another magazine article?

Yes they were there, will keep you updated on the article.

And what about the german plate on the tuned E55?? :hmm:

The owner had them made, not really legal but the police haven't said anything yet.

... WOW at the bronze Hartge M5! what a gorgeous looking car - those 21in wheels are perfect for it!! I just love it - and I think you should meet that owner for a proper 'in depth' in the future!! :D

He lives in Sydney unfortunately, maybe if I make it there I can organise something. :D

I was wondering if someone would notice, however its actually just how the picture turned out.....I didn't touch that area of the car at all in PS. :?

I checked someone elses pics and same thing, something about that angle, light and using a polarizer.

Those 21" are the best set of wheels I've seen on an M5 to date. Suit the look of the car and everything. Fantastic looking for an M5!!!

Great pics Dingo!!!

More vids to come?

dingo
08-24-2006, 08:42 PM
Yeah more vids to come, though as last year it will take a little time. I'll post the one of me driving the F430 next week hopefully, and then some in-car footage aswell.

The drag races we might keep to ourselves (unfortunately for you guys since its fantastic stuff), as we don't want it getting in the wrong hands.

P.S. No, the Rex didn't make an appearance. ;) (I hate PMing).

What would your choice for POTM be?

finally had time to go through all the pics, and boy, I am so happy this year you had a proper camera with you! In 2005 you already did some great coverage, but some pics were not top quality because of the camera you were using, especially when moving, while this year everything is crisp and sharp! It's USB stick overload here at work! Just brillant. The lineup was very nice and you did a marvellous job, can't stress it enough. I am in awe!
I love to see the two Hartge with the two stock M5. Very nice group!
And the E55 is so fucking exotic with its German plate in the middle of nowhere in Australia :!:

Only one thing was missing: some side panning shots from far away, or will they come later on?

Must have been a blast, thanks for sharing with us!!

And please, choose your fav pic because I am unable to just pick one.
I think I'd end up choosing this one:
http://www.ozcarsightings.com/updates/EITOB06/Exotics%20in%20the%20Outback%20(36).jpg but not sure you'd like to use an M5 when you had so many cooler cars out there. Just tell me :D

there are really a lot of very good pics in a spectacular scenery!

thx dude

Thanks for sharing dude...

Not too many panning shots sorry, there was just so much going on and nobody was too keen on driving past me for photos all the time....we saved that stuff for video. :) Easier to just taken moving shots of a car from another car.

I'll let you know my choice for POTM, will pick one tonight.

Thanks for sharing dude...

It was 5 days in total, covering some 2500km I think.

We "only" managed 310kmh in the F430 (see photo #15 for speedo shot), but I was passenger at that stage.

I only managed about 180kmh behind the wheel.

GOOD choice!! I would go for the same pic as well if I were you. As I said before (and will keep on saying it in the future I guess) you really master light conditions, in which the sun is standing very low! And this pic shows your skills again. I love it!

It seems you had a great time again this year. Too bad the 456 wasn't there. I hope you'll be doing this once more next year.

And now I'm waiting for the vids :D

dingo
08-26-2006, 09:57 AM
^ More pics (100 or so) to come before the vids. ;)

It was a shame that the 456 didn't show, but in the next lot of pics from this trip I'll have something which might ease the pain a little. ;)

Plans are already being discussed for next year, with a different route (just for a change) - which has no speed limits for the entire trip (unlike this one where we had about 200km where it was limited).

Unfortunately he didn't take it out for the weekend, woulda been interesting. He is getting his LP640 in about a month which will be nice to see next year.

I think as a fellow Aussie Car Nut and JW member you should send me a copy of the videos on dvd!
 :) :good:

dingo
08-28-2006, 07:41 AM
Haha, the DVD copies of the raw unedited footage are only being sent to the participants....not all of it is suitable for public viewing unfortunately. We need to keep certain things to ourselves or trips like this might not be possible in future....

When I get my tapes/DVD's back at the end of this week I'll cut out some parts and make a few clips to share. :D
