btw despite what the story says its not the first time an F1 car is driving on dutch roads, some guy in the '60s or 70's i believe also tested his car occasionally on highways, at night

If I knew this, than I would really have been there. But looks like they didn't tell anyone about this. I drive this part of the highway pretty often because our mainoffice is not far from his starting point.
It is a great road for speeding, there is not much place for the cops to put up speedtraps, I did 200+ there several times.

It's always cool to see race cars out of their element and on regular roads. American LeMans rigged it up so that several years ago, all the AMLS cars drove across the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransciso. And when Audi showed the then new LeMans car, they drove it in the streets of Beijing. I love that!

Yes Toyota did visit Finland. And the driving was slow, only on first gear, mainly because of the "track" which was located in the center of Helsinki and the road was bumpy (cobblestones). The car was last year's V10 toyota. And boy did it sound good. I was in a good place watching this because I was there where the cobblestones ended and Trulli really open the throttle. The sound! AAAH made my stomach go nuts. The admission was free and there were about 50 000 people watching :D. That pretty much considering we only have 5 million people living in Finland. It was worth it to drive 300km for that (also visited my sister). And Juha Kankkunen drove the Corolla WRC car before the "grand finale". Really nice slides and drifting, he knows his stuff :).

It was kept secret to get an approval for doing this run. If I knew I would also have been there, but with me 10.000s of people.... and the location is not suited for a large crowd.
This stunt was organised to give a group of chronic diseased kids an unforgettable day, they were the only ones live at the scene.
