My first real own ride ;) Update: New & Last Mods !

Hi,

bought two days ago a Aprilia SR50 Di-Tech. it has a direct injection and stock one of the fastest accelerating 50cc scooters. I bought it to travel faster then with my bicycle, and longer distances :P it goes currently about 55 km/h with speed limiter on, I'm going to remove it later this week. Anyway it only has 1400 km and didn't cost that much so I had to buy it :P

I have an Aprilia Sr too!! But I haven't got the injection one, I have the normal one because you can tune it better :twisted:

@ Pimp Racer: 900€ :P not alot since the condition was as good like new and only 1400 km, newprice is around 2400€.

@ TopGearNL: humm nice :o I've hearder that the older model SR w/o Injection like you have are way better for engine tuning :P and that normal Di-Tech are just stock fast, I was thinking within a few weeks buying a Polini Vario, Polini Clutch, TNT air filter, Gianelli Reverse Kevlar Exhaust, white tyre markers and chrome rear lights. for the rest I ain't planning to put money into it, since I'll buy a car in about 2years .

I have a Athena 70 cc on it and a TJT C16 exhaust, goes about 120 (real Km !!), but I was catched by the police (never told it on JW btw) and know I have a ban driving on any scooter for 2 years. But since I am taking driving lessons now I am going to sell it for about 900 Euros.

Right, malossi 80cc kit, gianelli pipe (neighbour-waking loudness) and get that speed limiter off!

If you are handy with an electric file you could polish the ports too, I did this on my DT50 and increased top speed by 8mph from stock 35mph :mrgreen:

With this hot weather I really fancy a Gilera LC180. Now that would be fun!

thx for the nice replies guys ! I only had one problem yet: I was driving a distance 10 km, and did a few laps around the block, when I was finished I looked at my temperature meter and it was just into the red :? humm I didn't saw any signs of empty oil or water, but it was around almost 40°C outside, could the warm weather be the problem or something with my SR?

This also reminds me of my Zip SP days :D Polini for race exhaust, polini clutch, vario tuning and an automatic speedlimiter for the friends in blue :D
But it is now, when I hear those scooters with exhausts, that I think that back then I was also such an ass lol.

I also used to have a Polini ForRace, never had to ring the bell when I visited a friend that lived at the end of a long road. :lol:

Nowadays I also get annoyed by loud scooters if I'm walking in towncentre. :)

me too, always hated those bastards - you could have just saved your money for your first car..., it's just so weird - they spend all that money on them, and their they are tooteling along at 50 km/h

nobody is impressed by scooters, in belgium some of them drive on the road at 50 km/h, then i pass them at 80 km/h and miss them by a couple of inches to scare the living crap out of them :twisted:

^^ a first car isn't gonna cost around 15,000€ you know, you better start with something cheaper... :roll: and as long as their not doing anything wrong I don't see why you should react so agressive in traffic. :? not that i'm gonna spend a lot money on it trough...

Update:

Did some mods today:
1. Removed some of those ugly stickers
2. Put on two Polini Stickers instead
3. Bought new Polini Speedcontrol Vario
4. Superb washing techniques by myself :) :lol:

when I removed the stickers I saw the previous owner put on the stickers to cover up some scratches and cracks :( yet, I still wanna say that i'm not one of those typical guys who is gonna put all their money into it. I'd rather save for later :D

Yup that's in the new condition: w/ new sticker, looks nicer then before imo.

Got some new mods, and probably the last to :|

Yesterday did some testing, got my cousin his Leovinci ZX Exhaust mounted to test it and check out my Speedcontrol Vario & Polini 2G Evo Clutch & TNT Air Filter. Also removed the limiter and could do stock a good 75 km/h :P Unfortunetly with the last test drive of the day, when everything was finished, my dad was driving and the Speedcontrol blasted out of my scooter :( result: loss of 75€ of Polini Parts and a big bill from repair costs :( al because of one screw wasn't attached. stupid. :!:

^^ yup, we did :wink: my cousin' had it. there's another method: I don't know the english word but the dutch word is 'zuigerstop' which pushes the piston to it's lowest point, so removing becomes possible by just handtools :P

one of the last mods i'll do, now only still to come is a Malossi Air Filter, and maybe some more, but i'll have to think about that, when I'm gonna use it for daily use i'm gonna limit it again to 52 km/h (max 53 km/h allowed) :wink:
