I used to use it a lot back when I was in Uni, then it died! I think it is has found a way around it, but you have to know the people you are sharing with, you can't just search for a song like you used to :( At the moment, my floder is empty lol. I stopped using Kazza after I got a few viruses, which really screwed up my computer!

I'm not sure of AudioGalaxy's current status, but I encourage everyone to download iTunes from Apple. ITunes has a music store (which is only available to Americans), but the actual software it uses is the best I've ever used. It gives you access to hundreds of high quality radio stations and lets you find songs/albums in seconds and preview any song you want. In addition, its music library is the best I've seen in terms of ease of use, organization and refresh speed.

You can use their software without buyiing anything from their store which is great!

Man, I remember AudioGalaxy. A guy whom I used to work with thought that it was the best thing ever.

Audiogalaxy is still on the go?? i thought that was gone years ago.
so for audiogalaxy you have tp pay for the things you download?? Kind of pointless when you can get it for free from kazaa.

Yeah, you do have to pay for Audiogalaxy now, but they have just introduced a new free feature. Basically it is like Kazaa, you have a share folder.

From what I've read, Apple is doing very well. Apple announced that music fans have purchased and downloaded over 25 Million songs from the iTunes Music Store. However, they're not making any profit because the RIAA is taking their money. Sucks. http://www.theregister.com/content/6/33850.html The recording industry said that this business model wouldn't work, that people won't pay for what they can download for free. There you go.

There is also another file sharing program out that uses a more private method of transfering material. http://mute-net.sourceforge.net/ It's still really basic right now.

Another alternative to apple is walmart. Check it out http://musicdownloads.walmart.com/catalog/servlet/MainServlet

Here's a good review on digital music stores. http://www.bbspot.com/News/2003/12/digital_music_store_reviews_1.html

Too bad for mp3.com though. After CNET bought it, they're beginning to destroy the whole mp3 library. http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/7/34009.html

This is definitely more than enough info. hehe. :D
