Apple was dieing because their computers sucked so bad, the only reason they returned to profitability is because of the iPod which ha ha ha is so damn useless and overpriced, I'd take a hooker with scabies and leprosy than buy an iPod at least she's compatible.

i dont know if apple overturned it... but Microsoft pattented the ipod before apple could; and it was ruled that they pay microsoft about 10$ per ipod sold.... and microsoft didn't have to do much :P

Here is some good news everyone can enjoy and talk about

"Apple's U.S. notebook market share has doubled to 12% (http://today.reuters.com/investing/FinanceArticle.aspx?type=businessNews&storyID=2006-07-19T213736Z_01_WEN1428_RTRUKOC_0_US-APPLE-EARNS.xml) after shipping 1.33 million Macs in the quarter.

This is inspite of PC sales slowing in growth (http://www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflash/content/jul2006/db20060712_955118.htm?campaign_id=ds2). I guess being able to dual boot from OS X to Windows (http://www.apple.com/bootcamp/) or virtually run Windows within OS X (http://www.parallels.com/) made this possible.

Other than being able to cook dinner the switch to Intel kinda made Macs more popular. Now I'd like that burger with bacon. :mrgreen:
