It seems that the upcoming smallest Z car is under way. Read all about it here: http://prophetofnoise.com/z4coupeaddicts/viewtopic.php?p=736#736

This seems like a great idea with no direct rival.

Highend Miata? Unless this sells for under$30k USD I dont think people would go for it.. except for all those yuppies ;)

They shsould just work on their new 2002!

The Z1 was one of its kind - a unique design... when BMW didn't have any other two seater roadster. Now we're in a different situation

Drop a tuned E36 M3 engine in the Z1 and cruise with the doors down all day long. 8)

I don't believe all the AutoBild crap till I actually see those cars driving...

It's an 'an artist's illustration'. They do that a lot at Autobild.

That said, I don't think it's a bad idea. Looks pretty. And the Z4 has really gone upperclass, so there's indeed room for a cheaper roadster in the range.

God I'm getting sick of so many roadsters coming out... Give me a fucking coupe already.

Actually rumours say that the Z2 or whatever its name will be is going to have also a coupe version.

Well - considering the Z4 is quite bigger than the old Z3...

Bigger ?! It doesn't look like.

This car is weird... I heard about a 1 series cabrio, but not a Z car cheaper than the Z4... I don't know were BMW will fit this car

A price competitive with the MX-5, Solstice, and SKY.

From these that you mention only the Miata comes in Europe though...

The head lights are very Audi'ish. But I like it... I would buy it. I've always done small cars. It's been a while since I've had a car that was over 2400 lb's. Though this will wiegh a lot more cause it's a BMW.

It's an 'an artist's illustration'. They do that a lot at Autobild.

Obviously. The times AutoBild is totally off though are in vast majority.

why not, the Z3 sold great, but with the Z4 in close range of the boxster.. i think a cheaper roadster would sell great..

Z4 is not that much larger than the Z3.

The Z3 was always the Boxter's main rival too..

They won't make a Z2 unless its another low volume car like the Z1.

If anything they will bring back their small coupe (2002) as a 2 door 1 series (or 2-series) and make a convertible version of that..

This has already been spoted during testing... and the 1 series cabrio is totally different from a z roadster...

Looks nice, but as said before, thats Autobild image, not what Bangle thinks of as pretty.
