Hi I was wondering if I could just make a suggestion.

Have you heard of the Internet Relay Chat program call mIRC? It allows people to serve and transfer different types of files between people and it can be very regulated if you want it to be. I have some experience in how to serve files and operate chat rooms. What would you say to stepping the "awesome community" idea up a notch and creating a channel on mIRC for a place where we can have more direct contact. It can also be limited to an X number of members using the "Invite Only" option. If you want, you can have an application process and whatnot for those people that you want to invite. I think the added benefits of using this is that a widespread number of reseources can be used. Different people can serve videos if they want. It won't have to be all from Jabba's video vault.

I am willing to start a channel and help people understand how it works. If anyone has any experience or is willing to help, volunteer!

I also made this offer to the admins a while ago and was turned down for several reasons.. but who knows, maybe they changed their minds since then :?:

You know, it could also be file serving free. Just a chat room 0X

Bittorrent has already been suggested as well. It was pretty much agreed that Jabba has the resources (both time and money) and would prefer to run the site conventionally. (Although I obviously don't speak for him, these are just my general conclusions.)

There are also java irc clients so it could be dont from a window at javas world. The channel dosent have to be hosted or anything, just set up a secret channel on an existing server.

As stated by Dan, we're not interested in "alternatives" JW as it is now is great :) and personally I don't like to much when a forum also has an official chat since it usually slows down a forum in a strange way... and BTW, I also prefer to chat with a single person at a time :)
