The brand new Chrysler Sebring will have its European premiere at the London Motor Show on 18 July together with the new Dodge Nitro, which will be shown in the UK for the first time.

These two newcomers will both be launched in right-hand drive in the UK during 2007, and will be joined on the Chrysler Group motor show stand by all of the stunning new models that have been launched in the UK this year – the Chrysler PT Cruiser Cabrio, Chrysler 300C Touring, Jeep Commander, Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland and Dodge Caliber.

Peter Lambert, Managing Director for Chrysler Group UK said: "2006 is a huge year for Chrysler Group with the launch of so many new models* in the UK in the first seven months of the year.

"With so much new metal it's no surprise that our sales are so far bucking the downward trend. Demand for the 300C saloon has exceeded all of our expectations, and the 300C Touring estate is off to a flying start. We are already asking the factory for extra cars to meet demand.

"Looking forward to 2007, it is no coincidence that Chrysler Group has decided to have the European reveal of the new Sebring at the London show – the UK is a key market for Chrysler worldwide and our aim over the next few years is to grow our market share by offering stunning cars that offer surprisingly good value for money."

The Sebring is Chrysler's first offering in the mid-size family car D-segment, currently dominated by cars like the Ford Mondeo and Honda Accord. It combines a striking design, based on the 2003 Airflite Concept, with interior craftsmanship, high levels of safety and reliability, great performance and excellent fuel efficiency. It will be available in right-hand drive with diesel and petrol engines in the UK from the middle of next year.

barf. I want to slap the designer who made those hideous lines on the hood.. but with or with out those lines, the rest of the car looks like crap. Although in the thumbnail it looks like a C-class

I didn't even think the Sebring did well.. except for the convertibles.. I remember seeing those everywhere..

At least it’s better than the old Sebring, the most boring car on earth. And those lines are straight from the crossfire obviously. I'm pretty sure it was a British designer that did the crossfire.

Any word on specs? Any chance it will be available with AWD like the 300C? If this car was RWD or AWD it would improve its appeal by about 400%.

^^ Better to be boring than hideous. Witness the fact that the Aztec failed miserably while cars like the Saturn Vue and Ford Escape seem to be selling rather well despite horrendously bland styling.

You're right, the concept Crossfire was styled by Eric Stoddard and the production version by team led by Andrew Dyson, who is a Briton. At any rate, I wouldn't even give it a second look when cars as attractive as the Mazda 6, Nissan Altima, and even the new Impreza are on sale for the same money or less, and if I really had to go the semi-luxury route, I'd probably stick to the Mercury Milan I'm driving now, it's at least unobtrusive in its styling.

Well yeah I mean come on, the Sebring?!? I cant think of a car I have ever had less interest in! Of course I personally would choose a 6 or TL, or just about anything over it!

But that is just you and me/ The fact is there are a lot of people in the world that do want Chryslers and do want Sebring’s. This will probably be very appealing to them. And if it had AWD ad was still in the 25k range then it would be VERY interesting. Again not to me. I would just get a WRX! but to all those people that do like Chryslers!

Look at the PT Curser. It’s a cars I hate more than just about anything I can think of except maybe the new Beetle!! But both are incredible sellers for Chrysler and VW.

It's a fat, slabby, bulky, disproportionate Crossfire, and while it does carry some of the brand-identifying "modern" Chrysler styling characteristics, it's just not a pleasant sight.

Reminds me of Chevy Malibu, and what is up with the lines on the hood.....something wrong with their pressing machine? I don't see anyone would be stupid and tasteless enough to buy one except car rental companies.
