First day of summer....

I really hate summer. And I’m sure it depends on where you live but summer is by far my least favorite season. I hate heat, humidity, bugs, too much sunlight! The days are so long right now it makes me feel sick! It’s light at 5AM and does not get dark until almost 10PM!! I’m loosing my mind!! I just want some darkness and cool weather! When will it end?!!!!

I think the poles will have virtually 24 hour daylight during some months and virtually 24 hour darkness in other months based on where it is in juxtaposition to the sun

Well for one thing its A LOT easier to take in Toronto. I lived in Boston and the summers there are similar. They were still terrible but much shorter from start to finish.

I'm active too, I play 2 hours of tennis almost every day. But in this heat I have no interest in playing in the daytime. I can’t stand direct burning sunlight! So I wait to play until night and with the sunset so late we don’t start until like 9PM, and then it gets too late. Plus tons of bugs are attracted to the lights, I keep inhaling nats and misquotes!! That is so uncool when you are trying to play tennis. Plus all the nasty cicadas and flying roaches are out!
Oh man I hate this time of year and I'm making myself even more depressed talking about it!!

No im actually out in the sun A LOT!! I'm quite tan, but I hate the sun. I hate being out in it and its been all over the news that sunblock does not work and does not prevent cancer.

the hottest summer I've ever had was last year. 40°C (celcius of course, join the modern world :P), and high numbers of humidity.
me and couple of friends walked couple of blocks (5 minute walk) and we were soaked in sweat
I get uncomfy just by remembering it :?

That is basically what I have to deal with. Minus the hot engine. Metal warehouses is definately one of the devils tools. Like the metric system.

Come here for a while and I'm sure you'll appreciate Kansas summer again some more. Not that much heat, but tons of mosquitos and bugs and loads of sun. Sun rises little after 3AM and sets just minutes before the midnight. Nights are dim, not even close to dark :lol:

I would love to go to Finland. Furthest north I have been is Prince George, BC. The Aurora Borealis are so intense there you can hear them crackle and pop!

And I have been to Singapore, talk about hot and humid!! And it’s that way 365 days a year!
