Pic taken using my brand spanking new 2.0GHz Macbook Pro. Too bad my musical know-how's 5 years out of date.

Nice. I'd love to be able to afford a macbook pro.

But in such a terrible financial climate on JW, why haven't you donated yet?

Not wanting to be an arse about it, but macbooks ain't cheap, and the numark requires two ipods, doesn't it? :)

BTW - don't wish to pressure you into donating. If you don't want to, you don't have to.

I just thought it was prudent to mention it to you - as you certainly seem like the wealthy sort that JW needs to attract 8)

do you have to use two ipods or can you use an ipod and a computer?

you can use 1 ipod & another source like computer. it has the inputs at the rear. the model that replaces the one in my hands only needs 1 iPod as a multiple source but is loads more expensive.

Nice one! Like i said, i didn't want to come across as an ass :)

Seems like a really cool toy.

Can it do things for you, like mix, or do you still need to do stuff like that yourself? I'd love an automated programme that would mix my tunes for me, lol. I'm a bit lazy like that.

Seems a nice way to create mixtapes for a party from a private music collection without needing to be shit-hot on the decks. :good:

The mixer's indeed a "cool toy" I cant see it being used in MoS or Gatecrashers in its current form but I expect the future models to be as extensive as those found on turntables or CD players from Denon & Pioneer. Not to say you can't make money off it doing gigs but you'll feel a bit contraint.

It isnt complex enough to auto-DJ for you and i think there are computer apps already that matches songs with same BPMs into a continual mix. These arent perfect and sometimes matching BPM songs clash melodically.

If you have a couple of iPods with bad batteries this could be a good use for them. For house & school parties i think it fits the bill perfectly.

I'm definitely not looking to do a DJ set of my own.

But could you give me the names of a few of these's auto-dj apps, so that i could find out more.

Cheers.
