I think the M version of the coupe will be stunning performer. But I think I like the looks of the convertible better.

The M6 will run a 5.5 litre, naturally-aspirated V10, producing 500Bhp++, with Active Steering and Dynamic Drive suspension management coming as standard. BMW are reconsidering AS as a standard fit, due to the mixed reviews it has received from driving enthusiasts and journalists who have had the opportunity to try it on the E60 5 Series. Rumours have it that the M6 will run either 18 or 19 inch rims, with a wider track than the standard car, as well as having the third generation of BMW's SMG, called SSG (Sequential Sports Gearbox). Whether or not there will be a manual, or a standard automatic/Steptronic version, is unknown. Best bet would be on SSG and Manual transmissions as options, although BMW are also considering adding a fully automatic version, to widen its appeal in the US. As for the looks, they are definitely the best interpretation of Chris Bangle's design language so far. Let's hope he keeps it up.
The best drawing of Chris Bangle so far, that's for sure. And (for those of you who did'nt see it in real) it looks even better than in pictures. Even in those strange, hard to name colours. But the interior is somehow.... ordinary as for such a car. Or is it just me???

I thought the car's interior look "somehow.... ordinary" in pictures, but was in Munich earlier this month and saw a 645ci at BMW Niederlassung and must say it looked pretty good up close and personal. I didn't fall in love with the two tone effects on the door and dash a bit too much at least for me. Overall liked it alot!

It does kind of look like a G35 coupe, but I guess thats because its the perfect Coupe shape.

yah, the rear seems to have some cues of the G35 coupe
Well, yes the quality and materials inside are great, I admit (I've seen it in Frankfurt on IAA 2003). But it still looks as if there was something missing. In fact just like inside the 5-series.

Very Nice ! Nice shapes and it looks like a beamer. The back is very nice with thoses big exhausts :) The interior is a bit empty of buttons you must like it

BMW Group Press Club:
“Top-up or top-down, the 6 Series Convertible is stunning. With the top up it captures the same purposeful, athletic nature of the 6 Series Coupe and with the top down another dimension of its personality is revealed altogether. The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the 645Ci will be $76,995. The 645Ci Coupe has an MSRP of $69,995. Both the 645Ci Convertible and 645Ci coupe go on sale on March 26th.”

Too big to look like a G35... I dont think if you saw this new 6 series next to a g35, the only thing you'd be able to say about them being similar is the fact that they both have 2 doors...
If you pop the trunk and look at it from the side, it resembles a stretched porsche 911 body..(mentioned in the Fifth Gear review of the 645i)

Definitely best Bangle design, although it does look similiar to the 996 rear end (the lights at least). As for the interior, it's much cheaper than other BMW's of late, which I'm disappointed about, but overall, it looks sweet. I want one - esp. the M6

i think the only problem i have with it is the wheel archs don't seem to match to me..if u look at the pic from the back right to the front the front well looks nice and big muscular but the back looks kind of sagy and small in comparison..they don't look bad but together they don't look right
the front almost looks like an aftermarket wide body with the rear looking like a stock car...hmm

at the NAIAS a few weeks ago, i had the chance to get in the 6.45, and was stunned. it is quite simply the best car equiped with a manuel trans designed with serious drivers in mind. the only all oem car made for heel+toe downshifting. perfect driving position. great view all around with few obstructions. lots of room concidering its a 2+2 and a v8, front engine and rear drive. i think its safe to call the new bimmer a muscle car in all respects.
cant wait for the M coupe to show itself. 500hp doesnt suck :D

I must say that I've liked the 645i since I first saw it. This is probably because the original design was conducted when Wolfgang Reitzle still had Bangle's designs in check (the current 3-series and 6-series were the last models Reitzle oversaw before BMW let him go, which gave Bangle free reign to destroy the BMW lines).
For this reason, the new 6 will be a fluke of BMW design. Its the last car Reitzle had any impact on (aka. the last design not entirely guided by Bangle). I have design sketches from as far back as 98~99 showing the new 6-series body style. The style has been around for a while. Its been said that Bangle tried to "improve" the design (the result being the Z9 concept car), but they eventually reverted back to slightly tweaking the original design developed under Reitzle (due to the current criticism of anything Bangle touches). I'm sure the 6 will sell like hotcakes compared to the Z4 and 7series, which they can't get off the lot in most areas. Hopefully, the sucess of the 6 series will show BMW that owners want a car the is beautiful from the moment you see it, not a design that "challenges" you and makes you have to "get used to it". *Bangle Quotes

Not bad at all, but how about the rear seats, is there anyway an adult or 2 can sit in there? Looks too crampy in pictures..
Definetly not the most impressive interior..

Best Bangle Design by far is the Z4. The "Flaming Curves" thing works well for that car. But this car is too big for that to be implemented here. I don't know this car just doesn't look right.

i wouldent describe the car as beautiful, however, it certainly looks interesting. the best angle is the rear 3/4 very nice. the front is strange ? and i dont like the boot bustle. very nice side profile, cabin is fairly mundane its just a 5 series. Still a lovely car though

i also think that the best bangle's design is the Z4...anyway i think there will be an M6 and an M6CSL...the one will have 500bhp and the csl 550 bhp!!!!
