Hi, whats up?

According to the spanish news, Alfa Romeo is going to present in the next Paris Motorshow, held in october, a rear wheel drive version of the 159 in 2500 units, called stradale, with 240cv and a lightened chassis

The reason of this production is just for homologating the car for the WTCC championship which means that alfa romeo has got the front wheel drive cars weakpoint in terms of car balance

Although the rear wheel drive cars production is going to go forward only in this case, actually Im looking forward for the peopleīs acceptation or reaction about the alfa romeos return to the rear wheel drive cars even for this particular case

Ill be waiting for your opinion about this piece of news, (IMO, although the 147 or the 156 GTA are awesome cars, they dont have the Alfa Romeo 75 3.0s or the rear wheel Alfa GTVīs essence

Yeah...I know what you mean Dani since IMO a front wheel drive system is cheaper than the rear wheel drive transmission since it gets more weight (the transmission bar is much longer) as well as it leaves less space in the interior because of the engine and the transmission themselves although the balance is much better; if it werent for the rear wheel drives prestige, BMW and Merc wouldnt have that transmission today

However, since the 159 is going to have the 4WD system sooner or later, it seems that the car is going to be based on the 4 wheel drive system, but without the front wheel transmission; see what happens anyway; Naturally I wish I saw the next generation of alfa saloons with the rear wheel transmission as 20 years ago

This wont happen. Alfa's rwd platform is going to come out with the arrival of the 169. This platform which is going to be used for all rwd Alfa's is under construction with the collaboration of Maserati. NO RWD 159 is going to appear... unfortunately...
