I'm going to China via Hong Kong. Unfortunately none of my relatives will be around when i go so i need to stay in a hotel. In between my stay I'll be taking a 6 day tour in China. I don't want to lug all my belongings to China and back to HK. So is it possible to get the hotel to look after some of my belongings for a fee while i'm gone? i see no point in paying full price for a room for 6 days that i won't be sleeping in.
Has anyone been in a situation like this? i wanna ask here first so if i know theres no such thing, then there's no point in calling hotels asking for it.
well i don't know about them watching your stuff. but even if you payed for a room the house keeping still comes in every day and they have been known to take sutff from you bags. but it does always happen.

i know, that why i always choose hotels with electronic safes. but i wouldn't be silly to leave valuables behind. its just the big suitcase and extra clothing i don't want to drag around.

I am pretty sure that you can do this. I have done this a lot of times in the US. As long as you are staying in the same HK hotel before and after your China visit, the hotel should be able to keep the suitcase in the left luggage section for free.
I would email/call the hotel to find out about this. Or the other alternative is to check the suitcase at the HK airport for a small daily fee. Need to check igf your suitcase fits in the locker though.

Yeah, I think my parents have done this before in Canada. Leave the suitcase at with the concierge and he'll probably be able to store it until you get back, seeing as you're going to be coming back to the hotel.
