The old Stig was Perry McCarthy ( http://www.perrymccarthy.com/ )
Not sure who the new one is.

Ok sorry, I closed that because someway I thought the question was about the old Stigg and we already had tons of discussions about that.. but thanks to Kangaroo I realised maybe he wanted to ask about the new one..
Next time maybe a better topic subject or some more words in the post will help everybody...

Story goes that the New Stig = the Old Stig.
Had something 2 do with a contract which expired. The new contract, alledgedly, allows Perry to do some presenting. But than again I could be totally wrong

I don`t think that new stig is old stig.It seems that the new one is littel bit quicker. Anyway it bloody hard to guess because in GB there are tons of fast drivers.

i also noticed that they drive different, the new stig doesnt oversteer so much as the old one

I don't know who is the new one but he is really a lot faster than the old : 7 seconds faster with a Murcielago !!! 8)

In dry conditions right?

Yep, in the dry. Normally the difference between a wet and a dry lap is about 4 to 5 seconds. So 7 seconds is quite a lot. And with the first murciƩlago lap time wasn't really that wet...

Don't forget the murcielago is AWD so it should perform pretty well in the wet.

the old stig was better

Well Dont forget guys the whole point of the stig is to not know who is doing the driving!! if you knew it would take something out of the character of the stig .... and the murcielago i dont believe would have had that much of a difference between stigs had they both been on the dry, however just from the driving ive seen in both i think that the new stig is a bit faster. Oversteer is cool looking but doesnt translate to fast track times. and someone made a pretty correct observation that the new stig doesnt oversteer as much.

Well, just because I feel obliged to be a little subjective, yes, I think the new Stig drives a touch better, albeit I've only seen 3 of his lap runs on the show.

Of course, that could have been because his tires stuck just a little better, or the wind was blowing in just the right direction in some turns, or the track was warm, or some fat bastard on the other side of the world rolled to the right instead of the left somewhere in Indonesia...it's just hard to tell :)

I guess the mystery is still unsolved...btw, i wonder how the new stigg listens to the music that he plays while driving the track, isn't that mask of his blocking most of the sound already? :?:

Might just be me, but I think that the music is added during editing.
