Been a keen member of JW for several years. Love to read all different post, and also from time to time add some posts of my own.
Most of my post are involving Porsches - for natural reasons. I'm a lucky owner of a '85 3.2 Carrera which I love to take to the
track and primarily auto crossing. I've been autoX-ing for
2-3 year and have managed to attain some skills, and at the same time prepared my car for these type of events.
We run through the course three times, the two best are added together for your total time. You also get penalized for touching
or missing a cone.

Typically one do not want a to stiff track set up. But a firm, and somewhat softer setup for better turn-in and more grip.
I've changed the sway-bars and torsion bars this winter, and installed two Recaro seats with 4-point harness.
- the difference is unbelievable!!

Normally I would place #3-5 and end up a total of 2-4 seconds of first place. Last weekend I entered and won - by a margin of
10.5 seconds to the guy placed second - I'm still floating on air. You can't beat the feeling :D

Here's a picture of the area, used to plan the track. All trucks and containers were moved..

10 secongs .. ahhh shutup
just kidding ...

thats some improvement
the car must be trying to go sideways ? im guessing because of the stif suspension
and sice you know your car you must have controlled the slides picked the better line with 0 understeer ? :D

- runs back to bed -

haha.. you deserve to brag!

But did the 2nd runner up hit or miss cones? I'd imagine it must be pretty easy to get a shit time with pentalties..

Either way, you sure blew the competition out of the water! Hows the 3.2 beast handle the cones? Does it snap oversteer or have you mastered both the car and track?

Thats an pretty nice Porsche you've got there. In nice shape and condition :good:

I bet those Recaro seats will save some weight

How much are they, cost? 8)

These Recaro PP will cost approx $1.000-1.200 a piece including the mounting brackets.
Then ad another $500 for two set 4 point harness and a Weltmeister harness bar.

The car is setup for predicable handling. I've got a slight toe-in and negative camber in front for a sharp turn in.
Due to the weight in the back, it always want's to get in front - but normally in a progressive and controllable fashion.
I do not have any problems with snap oversteer. The seats helps me in sensing what's going on - thus making me able to counter any sudden shifts.

Ah very nice, so the Recaro seats help you more to sense the car, feel its movements?

Whats with the reflecting part of the seat, at the site? Whats it made of and does it have a function? :?
