Ever ridden in an E30 M3? I have and it seems not too dissimilar to that video you just posted. And an E36 M3 (was in one yesterday so its nice and fresh in my memory ;)) would piss all over that honda.

Its impressive to get such performance from a 1.8 4 pot yes, but there's no reason to go round saying 'it'll spank this and that' when it clearly wont!!! Its quick, im sure good fun and can be chucked round a track quicker than most, so stop bragging about straight line when that aint what that car is about.

Amen coombsy, a well driven recent M3 would beat that car imo, mainly because its a rear wheel drive car whereas the 'teg is fwd of course and will struggle for grip...

And before I get labelled a Honda hater, I'm on my third now, a black ITR as it happens and I think its a fantastic car - but I'm not blinkered about its performance either.

On track they can harass many faster cars, only last weekend I chased two Imprezas for quite a few laps until they let me past. It doesn't mean I think my car is faster, just that on the day I was able to keep wth them...

you can't thank Honda for getting 240 hp they didn't do it someone else did it and spent alot of money doing it aswell plus I bet that 240hp is around 8 grand right before you shift. I know more about a honda engine than you think and if there is something about them I don't know it would take me all of maybe 10 minutes to get real information. anyways the K series engines are waay more capable and respond much better to power adders than the B series engines. with a real intake not some cheap ass pepboys crap, full exhaust including header and lower intake plenum you can run 300 crank on an RSX-S not bad but still not that insane either. The only engine that REALLY impresses me from Honda is in the S2K that and their bike engines. shit I know for a fact that the NSX engine is soo detuned it's not even funny. they have single cam versions of the same engine now making almost the exact same numbers.

golfiste you are a fucking moron Honda's are not that great. I see soo many rattles come in it isn't even funny and most of them are on the Japanese aka rebadged hondas. The transmissions go to crap alot (guaranteed on any 00-03 TL) because the geniuses at Honda decided to take a manual transmission and turn it into an Automatic instead of using planetary gear sets. The engines do last but at 100K - 150K (on integras) you will have to change out some major stuff like the timming belt, water pump, head gasket (not always but most of them) oil pan gasket etc... then when you go and mess with the engine by putting all your power adders on them you take a good amount of life from those parts. integras do seem to enjoy overheating alot aswell.

I think everyone is digging in because they just don't like golfiste and he's doing the same thing. Honda makes some pretty darn good and reliable motors that are clearly easily pumped. I personally hate Hondas...and I think it's more because of all the ricers than the actual car...which is a bad thing. When I step back, I can say, ITRs and Civic Type Rs are pretty cool cars. I just don't want one.

In reality, if we could all afford exotics, there's no question that we'd want one over a really really really super fast Civic. Golfiste has some pride associated with the Honda marque and that's fine, his attitude leaves something to be desired, but it's there.

Any car can be made fast...it's just a matter of time and more importantly, money. My Corolla GT-S (AE86) was a bucket. But stripped down to 2000lbs and pumped with a turbo to 240 at the wheels, it was a rocket. Would I want that over a stock E30 M3 that is slower? No...I'd take the BMW. haha. But, the GTS was damn fun on the street, smoking everything and everyone because nobody expected it. As I grew older, I came to appreciate an all around car...one that is fast, but flexible to drive everywhere. One that you can take your girl out in and not be embarassed. One that you can valet and not blush as they pull up to the curb to return your car. One that can impress. As great as Hondas are, there are other cars that can do it "all", better. BMW, Mercedes, etc. You might not make it as fast for the same money, but it's a more solid car, it is more impressive, it is safer.

1. Golfiste: The link isn't working for me, but based on the figures, it should be a decent running car. Not extraordinary, but decent. But you need to post with a little more modesty. Had you done so, you'd have gotten more "love" than all the "hate" that you've been getting. There are plenty of Honda lovers here on this board and actually, most of the car-heads that have posted hate to you, actually can appreciate the car in the video...but your attitude turned them off to everything about it. Just a friendly observation on my part.

2. Everyone else: Arguing about something like this is a waste of time. Nobody is going to change his mind on the computer. It will take life experience on his part to come around and he may never do so, because honestly, bang for the buck and low cost mods, Honda is a great deal...I'd rather have a RWD Miata instead, but Hondas are hard to beat.

I hope what I've posted is not a "Stan" of something someone has already said, but 6 pages of posts is a lot to go through. :wink:
