Ok, I admit that, after a first browsing to check all the links are working, I have no clue about where my vote will go :bah: hoping some comments will help me decide.

tifosi - too often we see crappy dealership pics. This is not the case, it's well executed despite the lighting problems, but even if the two cars are some sexy bitches, it still remain a dealership, and doesn't spice me that much.
Darkel - this picture rocks! We have to say thanks to the museum guys who organised this set up, and to you for knowing how to use a tripod! Serious contender!
dingo - random car on the road and stunning pics and light! It basically remind me the CLS picture that won the past month's contest! Maybe too much actually, but stunning!
nthfinity - nice one: the Vector is so low that such pics always come out pretty well. Sadly I must say I am not a fan of tilted pics most of the time.
80ssportlover - very profesional looking. Simple, no drama, but very nice! The b/w probably adds a bit to the pictures. My fav so far, but I still prefer clored pics
goldfinger147 - two MC12 in a rainy day. Something you won't see every day, and you can barely tell we are at a dealer ;) if only the first one would have been a bit closer to you so we could fully see the second, it would have been even cooler
P_Zero_Rosso - very nice! I love the Focus ST, especially in organge and the setting for this pic is top notch. Only disturbing detail, that damn 50 kmh sign right behind the car, but not enough to spoil it. My winner so far
salegosse - this is the best Gumpert picture that sits in my PC. Slightly tilted, ok, but not too much, good light, polarizer filter, nice depth. And most important, I am one of those who actually love the Apollo :D sorry little Focus, the Gumpert apparently tops the list now
sl55kleemann - a nice couple of cars on track. sharp and good frame, but it is a bit "pale" IMO. No sense of speed, yet not completely frozen
Smylait - good sense of speed here! A track oriented car in Paris! That's cool! I also adore the "sens interdit" sign ;) this comes very close to salegosse's but when I have to choose, I prefer cars standing still
twboy1999 - another nice M5 picture, better than the last one you used (and I hope you won't post have an M5 every month, it risks to become boring). I love this setting: looks like a movie set ;)
Wutputt - brillant pic, another professional one, with bits of racing track at the back, but the "grey" light of that day doesn't make it justice and spoils it a bit sadly
c0wb0y007 - brillant action shot like always from you! It's just perfect, but well, again, cars standing still are my fav usually ;)
dodo - you wanted to use a pic of the white CGT but it doesn't seem you posted that one, so kept this other CGT for you.Actually it's a beautifull picture, a CGT in the middle of nowhere. Lacks some editing though and not enough contrast ;)
Maou - Dang, I was sure salegosse would have my vote but then comes this.. vintage car (always cool), brick wall, palm trees, beautifull light!
pterps - very nice occasion to shoot a new car! Maybe a tad blurry, but still great!
vakpemil - Nice and rare car. Too much grey in this picture though..
sameerrao - original angle, also showing a rare sunroof in a Modena. I would have moved the frame to the right to have less empty space behind the cars and more in front of them.
hamlet - another tilted picture I don't mind looking at! Also: tilted pics with lense flare are cool IMO LOL! Too bad the lense flare is just vaguely visible :) Again like for a couple other pics, a bit too grey
dani - superb shoot! A Ferrari going around the GP track (in the opposite way LOL, but well...), a boat speeding near the horizon, very nice light! Beautifull!
stmoritzer - This is the second time you "trick", posting just a preview before the end of the month ;) I accepted it since you didn't seem to have another great pic to use, but this is the last time ;) little previews don't count ;) that said, the picture is  to shoot such supercar like this is a precious moment :D

So, in the end Maou gets my vote, and congrats to everybody! Again a difficult choice :!: :good:

Wow, a lot of entrance this month !! And always as difficult to choose :?

I like very much TT's F430, 80ssportlover back and white Mustang, Stmoritzer's Aston V8 (nice colour), pterps Gallardo GTR, nthfinity's Vector but I really love the lights and ambiance of twboy's M5 so he gets my vote

The white Apollo gets my vote

it just looks like it's up to something bad...

05-01-2006, 06:54 AM
Special mentions to TT, P_Zero_Rosso , salegosse, Wutputt, dani and stmoritzer...all great pics.

However in the end I have to vote for Darkel, sensational picture which is obviously a bit harder to take given the conditions. Unique setting too with these purple "things". :D

Its so hard to vote these days, we need a 3-2-1 system to make it fair. (I know its been discussed already).

That M5 got everything right, the scenery the lighting, everything... gorgeous!

Fleischmann
05-01-2006, 08:54 AM
Even though he bumped into it by accident, Wutputt got my vote for the photo of the Lamborghini Gallardo. The car seems to "look" down on the track. The picture could do with a bit off editing in PS though IMO, a slight increase of saturation/contrast would make the car stand out more.

I'm going to have to go with 80ssportlover. Simple pic and even though its a Mustang, the picture looks great. All in all, amazing submissions from everyone. :D

REALLY good submissions this month.. (they seem to get better and better each month!)

I'm going to have to choose Goldfinger's shot of the MC12s.. They cool cold feeling of the photo gets me.. I can almost feel what it was like to be standing infront of those two beasts!

itīs always difficult to decide, but i think the F430 from TT is the best :)

well,

Darkel > Very well done (tripod, exposure...), good quality, the result is nice.

Dingo > Perfect light... (like the CLS55)

Smylait > Beautiful travelling and good light, big sensation of speed.

c0wb0y007 > Well done, good tracj picture.

sameerrao > Shiny picture, no reflection on cars, nothing to catch our eyes except the cars.

stmoritzer > WTF, where did you get that pic ! :D Nice view of the car, very well done...

So, afterall, i dunno who to give my  vote

It's a secret ! (but thats not me...)

sameerrao
05-01-2006, 05:46 PM
My vote goes to TWboy99 - this deserves to be in a BMW catalog.

Darkel - perfect shot!!
Dingo - perfect light - reflections of the side of the car is nice but that shed in the background and an ugly brown/black pipe or branch on the right sort of spoil the effect.
TT - Nice picture - but i've seen better from you. Good parking by the guy though - I'm sure I would have fallen off the curb if it was me doing it :)
Nthfinity - Picture is OK .. maybe if the angle was less extreme and some of the distracting shadow in the foreground was removed it will be a much better picture.
80ssportlover - beautiful pic - the car seems perfect in the black and white short - Excellent job.
Goldfinger147 - Nice find first of all - I know the conditions were gloomy but some of the side detailing is sort of lost. Maybe this could be better as a B&W or perhaps in color but with more brightness to the car leaving the background as is.
P-zero_rosso - Brilliant pic - the chirpy color of the car stands out against the dull factory in the background
cowboy007 - Excellent picture - I need to learn how to take good motion shots - I am going to a race soon.
Maou - Fantastic - the silver car stands out against the brick background very well
sameerrao - Who is this guy - must be a freaking genius   just kidding .. lets move on
Stmoritzer - brilliant picture mate!!!

All great this month!

This reminds me of the photoshop sections where the entries are getting so good its nearly impossible to choose just one...

TT

Ok so, again ppl asking to change the voting method.

I am SURE that, if now we have between 200 and 300 ppl voting every month, with the new method we would have way less than 50, but we could still give it a shot maybe.

Basically, like we do on another forum, everybody HAS to give 6 points to the best picture, 5 to the second and down to 1 for the 6th one in this book.
At the end of the month we'll do the maths and who got more points will win.

There will be a MAIN rule: EVERY member with a picture entered in the contest MUST vote (not for his pic obviously), or else, at the end of the month he will get ZERO points. (all the entrants will be notified via PM since most pics are picked by us)

I guess we'll post also a topic in the announcements to see who is interested in using this new and possibly easier method

Dani, for the beautiful comp. and great contrast with good color :good:

Darkel
05-02-2006, 01:32 PM
Darkel - that EB110 is a fantastic shot - professional material. But at the end I found it too artificial - I prefer regular street shots personally :bah:
Same here, but they couldn't find the keys when I wanted to take it out for a ride :P

I don't really have the time to comment the entries but Salegosse gets my vote, I like the way everything is parallel and the light is just perfect. But dani, smylait, cowboy and dingo also deserved some points

Stmoritzer, that's the Anneau du Rhin isn't it ? Please tell me bystanders weren't allowed !

05-02-2006, 01:45 PM
Thanks for the votes, it's indeed one of my best photoshootings ever and I'm quite proud of the pic, report will follow asap

to answer salegossse's and Darkel's question, it was at the racetrack ofAnneau du Rhin. Gumpert rented the track (although there were few private cars on the track inbetween), it was a private testday with customers testing the car.

TT - kick ass pic, love the "soft" light night shots, you know, early evening stuff, the background looks very aristocrat, and ofcourse the 430, great combination.

tifosi - hot car, but I like the beasts in the wild better

Darkel - the car needs no words, crazy pic, unique and I love it for that reason, the only thing that bothers me are the stickesr, but you couldn't do anything about that

Dingo - haha, GREAT pic, I like taking pics of silver cars the most....I see you like taking pics in the evening, or was it morning....great background, but I would like it even better if the right side of the pic ( background ) would be as alive as the left...

nthfinity - wow, what a beast! love tilted pics, great angle, the contrast is very well suited for a car like the Vector , one of my favs 8)

80ssportlover - artistic, no doubt! brand new car and a b&w pic. This pic went to my favourite car pics folder right away 8) That car really looks like it want's to start eating that tarmack right now!

goldfinger147 - one of the hottest car on the planet, but the light is just not good enought! But hey, two MC12's in one place! Who cares about the light, right?

P_Zero_Rosso - VERY cool pic, the contrast is just amazing.

salegosse - the apollo, such a beast...to bad it's so ugly  If the background was more alive....still, I saved the pic :P

sl55kleemann - two of my favourite brands in one pic, what could be better, lol, I just really don't like the stickers

Smylait - uuu, holly shit...dude this one one of my favourites, I mean, caught in traffic, no other cars, great contrast, sharp edges, blurry background, I know it's not easy making a pic like this, at least before you really get to know the camera..

twboy1999 - the blue and the red go well together ... great pic

Wutputt - interesting background 8) , I like the car being on the right side of the pic 8) a car and track well combined 8)

c0wb0y007 - stickers, stickers, tried to love them, but just can't

dodo - don't know about this one, I think that tha CGT should be standing out more...did you try to play with the pic in photoshop

Maou - can't really find anything wrong with this pic 8)

pterps - awesome car, where did you take this pic?

vakpemil - is this the record breaking car? Top speed ? interesting combination, the car and the building...

sameerrao - get the people out of the 360! the 355 sure is a looker, one of my favourite pics 8)

hamelt - dang!, I just hate the fact that there are sooo many cool pics to choose from ( get the new system of evaluating as soon as posible) I always like tilted pics

dani!!!! AAA!!!! this is just crazy, the colours, the enviroment we ALL know, and one of the best looking F cars ever....perfect !

stmoritzer - lol, these apollo's are turning up everywhere, lol , what a coulour!!
the car literary jumps at the viewer - very cool 8)

ok, this is getting harder by the month...

my favs: 80ssportlover (the b&w mustang), Smylait ( M3 CSL ), Maou ( AM V8 ), sameerrao ( the two F cars ) and dani's F355.

my vote goes to , well, dani and maou is the final, and I have to go for dani, but it was probably the closest fight ever....dani's pic is so clean, no fuss, just the car the road and Monaco....perfect, on the other hand, Maou, well, again, a great combination of the classy yet brutal AM and a fitting background....

get the new system it will be way easier to give out points.

dani's pic get's my vote

c0wb0y007
05-02-2006, 06:16 PM
c0wb0y007 - brillant action shot like always from you! It's just perfect, but well, again, cars standing still are my fav usually ;)

No prob mate, it is a personal thing. I respect every one's opinion. One of my favourites is the Mustang GT in B&W, a very nice picture that is !

Congrats to every one anyway. To my mind, there are lots of pictures which deserve to be printed in any high-quality car mag.

Keep it up

Cheers

You know what is funny .... When I opened this topic and was browsing thru the user names while waiting for the pics to load.

So I saw the usual suspects .. Yeah TT is always there, Dingo, Nth, dani ... and then sameerrao, .... I was absently going on to the next name on the list when I realized WTF I posted something here ... don't recall doing that in a real long time.

By then the pics loaded up and I scrolled down quickly to see what the heck I had posted and saw the 355 and 360 pic.

I then realized it must have been TT or someone else who posted on my behalf - thanks Dude whoever you are ...

Have taken my time to analyze all pictures:

TT, Ferrari 430: Great spotting but the background is too disturbing to be a winner

tifosi, Ferrari F40 and 575 Superamerica: showroom pictures are very difficult to get right; nice effort but to much angles and reflections for my taste

Darkel, Bugatti EB110 SS: exotic car and unreal scenery, I like it

dingo - Maserati Quattroporte: lovely sky, great car and sharp picture, a winner if it had been on the same location as the CLS

nthfinity, Vector W8: technically this picture is fine but the frame could have been better, too much concrete on the foreground

80ssportlover, Mustang GT: the car, the location, perfect, this is magazine stuff

goldfinger147, Maserati MC12: amazing to see 2 MC12's outside, too bad the weather was grey

P_Zero_Rosso, Ford Focus ST: well that's mine so I'm happy with it, working on a photoshopped one without the stop sign and stickers on the car

salegosse, Gumpert Apollo: amazing car, slight tilt gives a bit more aggression to the picture, well done

sl55kleemann, Ferrari 360 Modena and Maserati Gransport: 2 Italians on track can't go wrong but the angle and framing are boring

Smylait, BMW E46 M3 CSL: track car in the city, very well captured on the move

twboy1999, BMW E60 M5: the lighting makes this picture special but I would have gone lower to take it

Wutputt, Lamborghini Gallardo SE: Gallardo overlooking the Raidillon, nice capture

c0wb0y007, Lamborghini Gallardo GTR: another Gallardo in race trim, a picture I can't take, I'm jealous

dodo, Porsche Carrera GT: CGT in the woods is overexposed

Maou, Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante: classic aston, bright and sharp, perfect

pterps, Aston Martin AMV8 Vantage: baby aston in great colour, preferred to have seen more of the building

vakpemil, 9ff 996 Turbo: amazing car but the building looks like leaning tower of pisa

sameerrao, Ferrari 355 Spider and 360 Modena: two f-cars in different colours is great, I would have cropped it in the vertical direction

hamlet, Opel Speedster: a bit monotone and tilted for my taste

dani_d_mas, Ferrari 355: original picture, ferrari coming out of the tunnel in the opposite direction

stmoritzer, Gumpert Apollo: the car is fine but the colour is horrible

My vote goes to 80ssportlover and his picture of a Mustang GT

Amazing shots guys, you should all be very proud of your efforts. They are all awesome pictures. I hope to contribute once i start going to the race track again :)

Out of this lot, dingo, Smylait, dani and sameerrao are my favourite shots.
But dingo gets it, That Quattroporte is just sex

I have a question. Straight up, this isnt meant to start a flame war or to cause any offense.

TT's Ferrari F430 is currently in the lead

If I could have any car in the world, it would be a McLaren F1, and if I couldnt have that i'd have a red F430 just like the one in his photo. It is, by far my favorite Ferrari of all time (in terms of styling).

TT Is an excellent photographer. I admire him and much of his work. He never ceases to impress.

However.....I dont see whats so great about this shot. The background it a bit cluttered, the color is a bit odd, and im not particularly fond of that angle.

My question is this, of everyone who voted for it, what it makes it so much better than all the rest? The same reasons why goldfingers dreary photo has so many votes? Car Selection?

This isnt meant to say "Vote for me you idiots! Have you no taste?" It's only a little research for my future entries ;)

LOL for sure I am not offended by your comment and I was wondering the same. Actually untill the very last moment I had a picture of the RS6 from one of my latest indepths, which was much better as far as framing, research and quality go. Then I realized a grey RS6 isn't THAT sexy and we must still consider that, even if we encourage to vote for the picture, not the car, an average F430 pic can look more interesting than a good RS6 pic :bah:
Also, I know ppl often likes car pics at night and since I had that 430 pic posted the past month, I have it a try :bah:
I wasn't expecting it to get many votes actually and I am sure the fact it is a red prancing horse is helping a bit :)
Anyway the month is still long, things might change ;)

One other point to consider ... All the bastards who voted for TT's pics are brown-nosers plain and simple ... trying hard to get into Mighty TT's good books. :P :)

Just kidding ..

so after long deciding, salegosse's Gumpert Apollo gets my vote :good:

too many pictures here are too "crowded" in the picture, I prefer some surroundings around the car and I still chose the crowdest one

well done Everybody, 99% are top stuff :D

Nice pics, found it very hard to choose. I voted the Gumpert Apollo made by salegosse, great car to look at. I really liked the Gallardo SE at the Belgium Spa circuit also.

vakpemil - is this the record breaking car? Top speed ? interesting combination, the car and the building...

A PM from Fleischmann:
BTW, that car now has 820BHP, the owner latelly got those BBS rims from 9ff for lending them his car so they could test it's top speed on the Nardo. He is about 25 years old

My vote goes to the Apollo from salegosse! The location is perfect, the car looks really mean but the pictures make's the car a sweet car
To many good photo's to choose from, the second place would be 80ssportlover, Mustang GT

I voted for stmoritzer's Gumpert Apollo. Setting is perfect, good composition and a beautiful car.

Smylait - good sense of speed here! A track oriented car in Paris! That's cool! I also adore the "sens interdit" sign ;) this comes very close to salegosse's but when I have to choose, I prefer cars standing still

That's the inverse of me: if I have to choose, I prefere cars moving !

went for 80ssportlover's photo.
IMO it's the best pic in the group, even if the car isn't as special as the other members' pics.

decided just for the reason of the best pic

to make it short, my vote goes to :

P_Zero_Rosso

very close decision between the white Apollo, the F430, the GAllardo GTR and the FocusST

my vote goes to nthfinity for his tremedous picture of the Vector. I realize the other complaints but I like his style of photography. Keep it going!

Finally my vote went to StMoritzer. As other contender there is a very good quality of picture, but there are also somme astonishing colours.
