In the first of a new-look series of Top Gear Jeremy Clarkson drives an insanely powerful Swedish supercar, Richard Hammond races a jet powered canoe and the boys create the world's first convertible people carrier by sawing the top off a Renault Espace!

Could it be a Koenigsegg ??

Didn't Clarkson in H&H already did that to an Espace ??

"new-look series".....???

And it has to be the CCR. I've been waiting for the review of that car forever. And I bet he hates it.

umm... CCX actually

why would they test a car that is about 2 years old?

.... plus there was a rumor I heard that a CCX was shipped to the Top Gear office a week or two back ( not too sure on the validity of the rumor but I'm betting that it will be the CCX)

Are they just going to air the same Ranault Escape conversion as was shown in Heaven and Hell? That would be a bit cheap if they did.

 what else than a CCR ? Maybe a CCX but I would bet on a CCR. 5th Gear only tested it last season ... Just one week to wait :D

CCX is basically a CCR for the American market. It's the C8S that "old".

There are some differences. I'm still not sure how they got the "twin supercharger" setup to work right, but whatever.

Here's a link that tells all about the new CCX and the changes from the CCR:

The Koenigsegg engineers also incorporated the most powerful internal piston coolers in the industry - bringing down the piston temperature by as much as 80% more than competing systems, which was a must in order to run high cylinder pressure with 91 octane fuel.

Good old crappy fuel in NA.....

Only 2 more days, can't wait!

In the past few series of Top Gear, Jeremy had been recycling ideas and cars from his DVDs. So far, it's been doing a good job keeping it fresh, let's hope he's able to do that this time around.

Hahahah, Hamster driving a pink Nissan Micra shopping. Next week we'll hear about him getting lots of new viewers mail  Just wondering, does the Micra come in pink right out of the factory?

Some new Info:

Yes, it's true, Top Gear will be back on your telly Sunday night. We know, 'cos we watched them film the first programme of the new series this week.

And they've got a few surprises for you - the show has been refreshed, reinvented and reinvigorated. The problem is, if we spill too many of the beans they'll break all our legs. Really.

What we can reveal, though, is that there are new titles, a much slicker studio (see pic above) and a slightly bigger wardrobe budget for the boys. But not by much.

The bigger news is the new Reasonably Priced Car - the old Liana has been retired in favour of a new model and they've dreamt up a genius plan to avoid having to bin the old celeb leaderboard.

Along with the new studio (littered with some favourite TG cars from previous series), there's also a new member of the Top Gear team. Again, you'll have to wait until Sunday to find out who it is, but if you want a clue, think Blue Peter...

For a full preview of the new series, see our gallery.

And, of course, make sure the telly's free on Sunday night. Or set the video. BBC Two, 8pm - don't miss it or you'll be wondering what the hell everyone's talking about on Monday morning.

Brilliant, Top Gear has never failed to deliver and it didn't stop yesterday. "Look James there a monkey, he's eating a carrot". Had everything comedy supercars lions humping and a new labrodoodle.

At the start of the thread it mentions the canoe is in this episode. I guess that begs the question what else was in the first episode if the canoe was not.

they dropped it from the first episode and moved it to the second

it isn't the first time TG has done this before

Good to see Top Gear again, that 5th gear with it's Wickie woman don't give me that much entertainment, most of the show is boring to me.
I wonder how fast wast Stig driving when he lost the back of the koeningsegg and hit the tire wall. That Espace thing was really funny :D

Who is "the well spoken man"??

The well spoken man is James Hewitt, who is "famous" for being the lover of Diana, Princess of Wales.
