Yesterday I drove a gokart. It was a amateur cart.Mechanic said it has 6.5 p and can make 90km/h. I dorve it 10 min. In first minutes I couldn't beleive something can have handling like that. I am not sure but I did 50-55km/h and cart turned all corners like it is going like at 20km/h.Now I understand why care magazines use "handle like a go-cart" words for some cars. After having some ideas about driving cart it was really fun. Turning u turns at high speeds is amazing. You can realy feel the G forces. But when I was racing with my two friends their is an asshole in track and he drived like and Takuma Sato. While I was turning a corner in ineer line he hit to me and I had a spin and hit tyre barriers. After race I asked him what the hell he was doing. He said you were too slow and I hit you to open my way :x
Today or next day I will drive again. Can't wait :D

Go karts aren't just for kids ;)

the 6.5 karts are tricky.. you really have to know how to hold your speed through the corners. As soon as you get the back end out you'll loose too much speed that you wont be able to make up.

Those karts top out at 40mph.. I've only driven them at an indoor track and it gets kinda hairy when you're flooring it through a turn after the long straight away.

I found it really addicting, its a lot of money though. Luckily I found someone with a shifter kart I can race ;)

^^^I paid 6 € for 10 min and I will drive again tomorrow with my two friends. Yes Karts are really addicting If I found some money I will race again and again....
Like you said guys if you lost speed it takes too much times. After I realized I started to take corners in wide lines it helps you much. And I learned it is kart not cart :D

Yup, be light on the brakes, and most of the time dont even brake, just let off the gas and turn in.

Turning the steering wheel in a kart is all you need to do to transfer the weight to the front wheels. With the wheel turned, the back corner tire goes up and youre on 3 wheels. Applying the brakes or gas will shift the weight back to the rear tires.

It's real expensive over here in Boston. The one place I go to charges $20 USD for 15 or 20 laps (depending on which track) indoor, with races lasting less than 10 mins.
