I certainly will! Although it's officially prohibited to take onboard pics or video from the Ring. I don't know how flexible the Ringtaxi drivers are with those rules.

There isn't a waiting list or something like that, it's the application that's the hardest part. You have to fill in the form on their website, but the form is only online while there are still tickets. In december they issued the first part of the tickets. I was late then, all tickets were gone. A few weeks ago a second batch was issued. I filled out the form, but I was just too late. It couldn't have been more than a minute. Now they're issuing 30 tickets every monday. I was at work and had the website on screen on monday morning two weeks ago. During work I refreshed every now and then and suddenly the form appeared. This time I was lucky! :D

LOL Sorry to disappoint you, but you can't just show up, flashing a voucher. Each voucher has a number, which is printed on the back. Of which I didn't provide a picture... With that number you log in at the BMW Motorsport Ringtaxi site and book a ride. I'm not sure, but I think you have to show the voucher at the Ringtaxi on your date with Sabine ( :P ) to confirm the number matches that of the booking.
I don't know when my ride is going to happen, but I'm so excited already!
A friend who is going with me has a neighbour who is also a serious car nut (E21 Alpina). His neighbour told him rather smugly that he's going to get a ride with the Ringtaxi. My friend said he will never forget his neighbour's face when he replied he will too! LOL

Lucky guy!
It's 180 euros per ticket. One ticket allows for a maximum of 3 passengers. So in the end it'll cost me 60 euros. Worth it IMO!
Check the Ringtaxi website (http://www.bmw-motorsport.de/ring-taxi) for all the details.

FUCK MAN! I want to do that! Please answer these questions:
1) How much does it cost
2) How can I get one? (Call where etc?)
3) How much time in advanced do I have to take care of that before I am allowed to get a ride?
I might have others later, but damn I envy you.

1) As Lotus already said, the answer's in the post just above yours.
2) See other posts in this thread or check the website (http://www.bmw-motorsport.de/ring-taxi). On the bottom left you can select English.
3) It all depends on how soon you can get a hold of a ticket and at which date rides are available for booking. In any case, it would be hard to plan something like that if you ever come to Europe. Your best bet would probably be to go to the Ring and put your name down on top of th list they keep in case of cancellations. Or hang around to see if a Ringtaxi is not occupied with three passengers and offer money to the person with the booking to fill the empty seat.

You're lucky as hell man, I wish I had the opportunity to do that but unfortunately here in the U.S. we don't have that option
On behalf of all the people who wish they could go, I hope it is as good as I think it will be
Enjoy it!
Thanks! I'm sure I will. Needless to say, I'll tell you guys all about it.

^^^ Cool!! :D When did you buy your tickets?
Given the fact you'll go a second and third time, I gather you're a rather satisfied passenger, aren't you? I knew it was worth it, but now I'm certain.

Sorry for asking questions which were already answered. I was doing my stupid project and typed out the questions then submited after a long time without checking previous posts since the time I read the thread.
Apparently then, there is no way I can "schedule" a time. Hence, I wont be able to do this. I'd pay the whole 180 so that there are no "shotgun" issues (you do get to sit to the right of the driver dont you?)
I guess one of these days, Ill call them and ask them directly so they instruct me as to how to "schedule" for an apointment.

Stradale,
You will come away from the ride with a huge shit eating grin wrapped around your face and from there on everytime you speak of your Ring Taxi experience you will tremble and get choked up as you relive the feeling of being on the greatest track in the world being driven in one of the greatest cars by BMW's most qualified factory drivers. Even after close to a year from my first ride i still get all worked up sharing my story with those who ask. I first applied for tickets in December '05. Got vouchers in Feb and reserved time slots in March.
Stradale makes a good point. Not every lap in the Ring Taxi is occupied by 3 passengers. I have known a few people who were able to catch a last minute ride in the taxi just by standing around and asking people.

Yes. One up front and two in the backseats is the maximum. I haven't discussed this with my friends just yet, but as I'm the one who managed to get the ticket I think I'm entitled to sit next to the driver.
