I have the feeling that I sound really dumb asking this, but well, at least I get the chance the learn something.....
When I'm browsing through the (great) forum here, it really slows down my computer, something that I don't normally experience. It's a decent pc (Athlon XP 2000+, 512MB, etc) so maybe that someone has a suggestion for me????? I thought that I might have someting to do with the snowflock-script.....

It is the snow flakes, don't worry all will be back to normal after X-mass, just hang on :D
But strange because my Athlon XP1700+ with 512 RAM has no problem at all in handling the site with the flakes, Phostohop, DAP, AIM, Trillian, Zone Alarm and smartFTP at the same time... anyway as said by jon, the flakes will be around only for another little while

Thanks for the help!
I went mad and deleted all files I didn't need, cleaned up all temporary files etc, and it seems like it helped a little. And well, I'm willing to live with a slower forum for a few days, as the content easily makes up for it. :)

Hahahaha, I do that every so often! hehe, probably did some good anyway. I have a 2Ghz p4 and 512, I hit 100% CPU usage, but I don't notice any performace problems!

Heh, maybe the CPU usage differs from PC to PC as well.. or maybe from browser to browser...
I'm ok with only one window on JB open.. if i browse forums like i normally do with 3-5 windows open.. then it really jams up on me.

mods: I think making somekind of "sticky" announcement about the snowflock-thing would be a good idea. 8)
Thanks for the suggestions, but since they were around for weeks now and they'll be gone soon, I don't really see the need for it :)

Yep, I'm certain your right. The site loads just normally, but as soon as the snowflakes are loaded, everything slows down.....

This has allready been discussed to death.
Its the snow. Yes we know. Do we care? Not really since its been like this for a few weeks. When will it go away? Sometime soon. When exactly? Dont have a date.

Of course it is. It was related to the falling snow.
