Check on the interenet. Most of this stuff has already been done by professional tuners, and most are willing to help if you ask.
Im guessing that your civic is not an SI based on the yellow turn signals. My brother has a 99 SI, bulletproof car, love it to death. Let us know how the turbo works out, maybe I can talk him into one.

sweet man. ya i have a 98 ex.

with what i have atm.
i will be pulling about 260Whp tuned, thats with 10psi.

dont talk ur bro into turboing his b16. if he does anything wrong, he will be $2500 in the hole:P

where as i will only be 150-300$ in the hole:P
turboing any B is risky. cause you dont wanna ruin anything cause of an "accident". i have a D16 engine. i can run up to 450Whp if i build the internals. (and still have it be a daily driver).
si isnt much if ur going against a d16-T. last night i beat an RSX type-s 4 times :D (friends civic with same kit & tune).

ya:(
im running stock 14" steelies with hubcaps :D
but when i go to the track i will use my friends slicks.
i hate rims, only ones i would ever consider buying are the 99-00 civic SI oem rims.
my hubcaps are really pretty. and i can get a set o' tires for new for $99.
its like $130 for new tires when u have rims.
o and i peel through into 3rd. on 2nd gear it peels full on, and the only thing that happends is the car start to slide sideways ^.^ is TT still around? he is the best guy ever.

omg, whats up everso ^^ hows ur tt doin?
ya i will get rid of the steelies, but in NO WAY am i spending like $700 for tireless rims.

i saw a set of SI rims for $350 with new tires, but it already sold:(
im not to concerned over rims atm. right now i am saving my money for a new ECU and a nice dynotune. so my car will run smooth and reliable at 230-240Whp.

i sold my 180sx and bought a 1991 ed9 honda crx :D im thinking of maybe turboing it or just throwing in a b18c and working that NA .. when it comes to retarding and advancing the timing i wouldnt be do it my self...get it on a DYNO and get it tuned right or else you will regret it !

Pok, if i remember right, with the AEM adjustable sprockets, you advance/retard about 2 degrees, but off the top of my head i can't remember if it's intake advanced and exhaust retard, or the other way around. I'm 90% sure Intake=Advance and Exhaust=Retard. it only gives you a couple extra ponies though and really not worth it IMO as you have to check the valve timing every month or so. I have seen it eventually work itself to the point where the engine wouldn't start and was dangerously close to mating the valves with the piston tops. The reason this happens is because the sprockets are not the exact size of the OEM sprockets and the tiny difference over a long period of time works out to be about one tooth on the belt. The sizes are close enough to facilitate the fitting of the belt initially, but not enough maintain the correct timing for the life of the belt (60K miles).

There are more efficient ways of scavenging HP out of those motors than playing with the valve timing.

well I'm not 100% sure how much retarding you will have to do with only 6 psi you should be able to run it with normal timing. the problem is that you don't have any MAF to do the retarding for you in the ecu. I would say only a couple degrees because if you are off 2 sprockets you can send the valves into the pistons and you don't want that. I would defeinitely look on other forums. A guy at work turboed his B-18 engined hatch I can ask him for you tomorrow. Another guy is starting the same project as you on his hatch in a few weeks. I would suggest since you plan on getting some big numbers in the future to do the Integra bolt pattern swap. I would highly suggest you get colder plugs (atleast one step) larger injectors and a reflashed ecu at the same time just to be safe. last thing you need is to pop the motor after fishing all that extra crap into the engine bay. and maybe you should get new motor mounts so you don't go tearing them apart is you have over 100k on them. and a word to the wise about the tires, average tire life on a TL is 15K driven normally driven hard I've seen them go in roughly 5k.

If your going to be pushing that kind of power through the front wheels it would be wise to invest in a nice set of strong lightweight wheels, and sticky tires. The OEM steel wheels bend under hard cornering loads, and are not as stong as a nice aftermarket set of wheels. My brother has a set of ASA BBS wheels and cheap Khumo tires on his car and it works very well. They are an inch bigger than stock and i think it is half an inch wider. They look nice, and not retarded, but the only thing to be careful with the wider wheels is to make sure that the wheel weights are the ones that stick to the inside of the wheel, and are not the ones that clip onto the lip of the wheels. The weights to beat against the upper control arms on the back, under medium cornering and hard acceleration, take my word, Wal-Mart fucked mine up.

^^^^Yours truly at the wheel after an autocross, sticky Yokos on the stock OEM wheels for autocrossing, Kumhos for the street
These are the aftermarket wheels, nice looking, and better I think then the 99-00 OEM SI wheels

I know you dont want to spend alot of money on wheels, but you could get these wheels for about $120 US a pop, and find tires. I reccomment Tire Rack or something like that, dont go to a tire store to look for them, bcause you will get ripped off.

Good luck with the turbo kit, hope you dont break anything in the motor, just make sure to do your research on the internet before jumping head first into such a task.
