Its not a button, its an ambient air temperature sensor. ;)

Also often seen on Alfas (like the 156).

Hhmm. this only makes sense if the temp including windchill taken into account is needed. Assist the poser to determne if they should drive with the window down... ;)

^^^ very true! and as for this whole master-poser thing RC... you've gotta get over this whole hate for anything ferrari, or more expensive then what you can afford, kinda getting old. imagine if in every post, someone talked about how much they hate the C5 Z06, it would annoy you, me, and most of the other people who read thro this forum.

What's there to hate about the Z06? ;)

Neema, you gotta have a sense of humor, or else you're just a poser who likes to ride ferrari's dick...

Oh - and there are probably 15,000 posts hating on Corvettes in general just on this forum alone - but nice try anyway ;) :P

Dutch... i have a great sense of humor, so kiss my ass

RC... i drive an Audi A4, just like it says in my posts. and im not saying people dont clown on the corvette, god knows they have reason to (just like people have reasons to clown ferraris sometimes) but you are constantly putting down ferraris and other italian exotics because they cost more then your car and are slower. i see you doing it all the time.

So they good reason to clown on Vettes.. but for some or other reason - like maybe ferrari is god, clowning on ferrari is not allowed?

So you have determined that just because ferrari costs more than a C5 Z (which is currently cheaper than an F150 crew cab - sp that blows you theory) I hate on them because they cost more and are slower... uhm no - first I don't hate them.. but as you have astutely determined, they do cost more and are slower.. so what's not to make fun of? :)

And again - if you don't like reading what I post... maybe you should simply not read what I post - I know I sure as hell don't.

And as for the majority of f-car owners being posers and using the cars as penile extending ego-boosting poseur cars - this is true.. so why not laugh at the truth ;)

I am confident that for every F-car owner that has taken his/her car to a track and actually drives it on club runs and out in the country ther are 99 who simply bought it because it matches their rolex.

Houston is rotten with such folks - you kow it... :)

i agree with the last half of your last post 100%. but let me clarify a few things for you. no one said you, or anyone else couldnt or shouldnt talk shit about ferraris or any other car. everyone has the right to their opinions, and people like myself usually dont give a fuck what others say or think, esp. when it comes to opinions on cars. What i was trying to say is, i dont see you constantly putting down vipers everytime some posts somehting about a viper, you are, on the other hand, constantly writting off topic shit about ferraris, etc... whenever someone posts something about italian exotics. it just seems to me, you have some type of "hate" for "expensive", fast (usually italian) cars. just take this topic as an example, it started with a simple quesiton, and instead of responding to the quesiton with a useful response, you write "Thats a sensor that alerts the coffee-master as you pullup at Starbucks that a master-poser has arrived" now... just like i told dutch, i have a sense of humor and i can see how comments like that are funny, but when you say it, your not intending to take a random funny shot at a ferrari, based on your previous posts, its become very obvious, that you dont like ferraris, because they're ferraris. and thats where i think you go to far. as someone who obviously loves cars and drives nice cars (referring to you), i just find it odd how frequently you insult ferraris.

I don't think it is so much WHAT you wrote, more HOW it is written.

If, for example, you used capital letters and spaced things out a bit, your point would come across loud and clear

I think RC is right at one point of view. Ferrari is so expensive and it is not going as fast as it's price tag. I don't know z06 in USa but if it would be sold in Turkey it had a 90-100k € tag (because of high taxes) and f430 is 230k€(again high taxes) in Turkey. If I want a super fast car I would buy a z06 and put 50k€ parts to it and I will have a enzo killer but honestly I don't want to do that. I like Ferrari's and always dreamed for a have one and really don't care wich model it would be. I want to have a Ferrari because Ferrari is special company and all of it's cars are special. All Ferrari owners buy it because it is fast , it has wondefull sound , and it is so special. I'm sure that in every country if you say I have ferrari you will be jealesed by everyone. I can't say for 'vette users. When I saw a C5 I say he has a sprts car wich has a good american v8 sound but I don't think he is a special man. When I see porsche boxster and his owner I think he is not a special but more jealesd than a 600hp 'vette.May be I am saying this words because of I am aeuropean not american. May be by another reason I can't realize now. Sorry about my poor english but I think you guys understand me.

Meaning that most ferrari buyers buy the car because they feel the car makes them a better person? ;) :P

If more super car owners were like Jabba and actually took their cars to track and had fun with them (as much as their schedule allows them to) you wouldn't even be having this discussion. :P

The fact is most of them are like Paris Hilton and Steffan "the crook"... they measure their self-value and self-image by their material possesions... and all the groupies aspire to "be like their hero's".. :P ;)

i.e. fanboys :P

Its not a button, its an ambient air temperature sensor. ;)

Also often seen on Alfas (like the 156).

An ambient temp sensor exposed the air flow like that?

Won't that give a wind-chilled temp readout?

When crusing by Starbucks at 50km/h the wind-chill factor will be pretty low
