View Full Version : Can you suggest a good antivirus program?

I have been using Norton Antivirus for the last few years and find it expensive and performance hungry.

Is there a better and cheaper package available today? What would you recommend

I use AntiVir Guard, works good.

pato turned me toward NOD32... very very small footprint

www.nod.com one of the best I've tryed, if something infected tryed to come in I knew about it immidietly. Try tryout version. After turning off logo in the beinnig and "not using grafic interface" in options I know about it only by the tray icon and messages when it get updated automatically.
Set it to scan files you dl with download accelerators for max sefety, I dont do it myself thou.

Kaspersky or Panda Antivirus, best on the market IMO.

I use AntiVir Guard, works good.
Same here, it's never let me down either. Seems to have a small footprint so doesn't slow anythign down.

Norton 10.2 corp. Only 10mb installed, fast as hell, best I've tried.

Yeh, I use Norton. Effectively, but agreed, it's performance hungry.

McAfee might be better.

Which reminds me, does anybody else has problem wih updating AVG sometimes? It says it can't make a connection to their server... :?:

I have tried McAffee twice before and found it buggy both times. Been using Avast for about 3 years now (free for home use) Love it. Getting a new Sony notebook in a few days time. That Norton program is going to Recycle bin hell first time I turn it on.

I've been asking around and NOD32 is supposed to be really good, so that's the one I'm using now. It's good.
Norton corp is supposed to be good as well.

I was advised to try www.free-av.com by a mate, seems to work well, updates everytime I start the PC

try avast, its free and works really well with corperate networks.
