The German channel ZDF followed one of the greatest prototypes hunter : Andreas Conradt (Automedia).
I had already seen a video about him last year but wednesday they aired a new one :)
Unfortunately it's only in german but it gives you a little idea of their everyday life
I wouldn't mind waiting many hours for just one car ... a set of pictures is usually sold 2 000€ but for the pic with the two TTs at the end of the second video it's more than 10 000€ ...
Those two guys don't just work in winter but the whole year, Conradt said (there was an online chat with him just after the report) that there are currently about 7 germans who make a living with that job.

Some subtitles or quick translation would be nice ;)
What a great job to have.. Sure beats being one of the millions of nutters who run around trying to take pictures of Celebrities..

For those who don't understand german, here are some facts (a full translation would be quite long and my german skills aren't perfect :bah: ) of the second vid :
Hiring an helicopter costs them 700€ per hour, don't imagine they often do that, they just use it in order to locate new test tracks.
They can do as many pics as they want, as soon as they don't put a foot on a private property, that means they only have to be able to take a look at the cars frome above or whatever.
Those test guys can only try to be in their way when they are taking photos  A bit like that poor korean guy at the beginning of the second video.
4:50 : You can see that a car is actually blocking the road, that's not the police but a private security firm and that guy isn't kind at all ^^ Then a regular TT slows the photographs.
7:10 : In both vids Conradt's flash isn't working very well, they'll probably sue Speedlite as soon as they're back at home
8:17 : some Swedish photographers have also heard about an Audi convoy leaving the parking ... they don't even have a flash, Conradt's fellow Guido is too professional to laugh though :P
9:30 : an english magazine is interested by their Audi pics, as written in my first post, Conradt says a full set is sold about 2 000€ but his magic pic with both new TTs (according to the comments "the new Audi TT and the new TT Coupe") is a little lottery win : 10 000 €
10:15 : just an ABS test with a truck, nothing interesting.
12:37 : Conradt and Guido pushing hard, prototypes of the new Mini are said to be in a gas station.
Fast enough, 3 of them are there. On the right an old one with the new front and on the left the brand new models.
13:33 : Conradt takes the pics that bring him closer to his family, 2 more months and the winter tests @ the polar circle will end up.
