The suspension seems to have no travel what so ever..........
Without the garbage can, the car might end up in a better shape LOL

^^ Excuse me? Apparently you dont have any clue what the hell you are talking about.

Drift cars are usually setup with tight suspensions that have little travel.. thus the all the sliding.

Typical asian car driver huh? You dont even know who's driving, just that its a Nissan.

The guy driving clearly messed up and got OWNED with understeer..

It's a Datsun needs I say more, that is one hell of a tight suspension system.

wrong again. Nissan bought out Datsun in the 1960s IIRC my Z history correctly, i'd have to check to confirm the exact year.

But that suspension is not Nissan anyway so yet again, that's a heavily inaccurate statement.

That mistake was pure driver.

We had Datsuns into the 1980's in South Africa ;)

An about the video..I had no idea Audi were the primary engineering consultants on the 350Z steering geometyr...:P:P;)

But the main ting is they managed to get the Audi handling ability down to te last detail..

as stated in my Datsun thread, Nissan didn't phase out the Datsun badge for their international markets until the end of the 280ZX

Of course they didn't do the suspension, they just copy everyone else.

Yeah - we know how it is - you can't trust those slanty eyed Japs... here we thought they were kamikazi bombing enemy installations - when in fact those gooks were just taking really close up spy photos to build pirate stuf...

I have a video clip of him drifting very well, I don't know what went wrong there, but he knows how to drift.

I am still trying to figure out when the slowest way around a race track became the "in thing"..

I wish i could verbalize how much I hate/despise and am appalled by drifting.

Of all the imports from the land of the imports... drifting is surely by far the worst ever. :puke:

does this fuckin dumbass realize he's poking a bee's nest with a very short stick????

in 83 they dropped it formally because it had a very bad I mean bad image problem because the product was so terrible.

I'll continue this debate until someone finds the magic ban button...

ok, i was wrong about the date, big deal  it was around 1937 that the larger Nissans were being sold in other markets with Datsuns being sold in others.

If the Datsun product was so horrible, why is it these cars are all iconic? The Z's launched Nissan/Datsun and Japan as a whole, into the North American market in late 1969 after the MG MGC failed miserably as a replacement for the for the Austin Healy 3000 which ended production in 67. The 210's and 510's have nearly as big of a following as the VW Bug. Nissan/Datsun had carved themselves a niche in the US market within 3 years. 1971 saw 10,000 Z cars sold, yet in 2 years that number had shot to 52,000. If the quality was o horrible, how could it have won the East African Safari twice?

Yes, Nissan "copied" British cars by producing them under license for Austin in the 50's and then used them as a platform for the S211 in '59; SP310, SP311 and SR311 from 61 to 69, however by the late 60's they were developing their own vehicles. This ended up being the Z which was obviously so terrible that it launched a 26 year run, and now it's resurrected. Only the worst cars get resurrected, right?
