The owner called me and told me he had an accident in my old car...at the latest drift event. He tinkered with the suspension and it was off. Apparently...waaaay off. It's totaled and is going to be parted out.

It's been sold for several years. It's been mostly in the same shape as when I sold it to him. He just recently started dicking with it. He went from the T04 I was running to a T03 ball bearing turbo. He put in a Supra transmission to hold up to the power and just put in an S13 rearend. He was shaking down the S13 rearend when he wrecked...
It was fun car...
Yeah, that McLaren ride was probably the most incredible experience I've had so far. It's an incredible incredible car.

That's too bad. I know how it feels except I crashed mine in my own hands :(.
Great car and super fun to drive too. I still remember when you originally put the turbo in that thing, so light, so much power :D.
Oh wells, you got better horses in your stable now anyways :) .
I don't understand why he didn't shake it down before the competition?

Haha. No thanks. It's never the same.
Hey Stan. Their is a AE86 which my garage is working on right now for a customer and it has the same type of accident front left is totally bad.. Need a new fender, hood, radiator is damaged and the front frame is bent. The owner asked us to fix it. He did not want to total the car, he loves it so much... But I guess he did not see your car to really fall in love..
I'm very sorry to hear about your car. It really looked very good. Can you list the mods on the car and which engine the 16 valve or the 20 valve.

I see you forgot one critical mod that inevitably results in 50 hp:
Furry Dice...
Oh well, you can put it in the Porker

I agree with dani, It doesnt seem that the car is very damaged, specially it doesnt mean that the most relevant parts of the car such as the engine, transmission and specially the chassis doesnt seem very wrecked

I didn't need any. When I owned it, it had big racing stripes and big stickers.

Man.. It's a damn shame to see such a nice AE86 smashed up like that.
How much did you sell it for? I've been looking on and off for one in decent condition, but you can only find AE86's that are half dead or too expensive..

Well, when I sold it, there was a confidentiality agreement between myself and the buyer. It was a very hot car with about 240hp to the wheels at that time. It was well over the average AE86 that you see for sale...even the nice ones people have tricked out. Best of luck looking for your GTS, they're hard to find now, for a "fair" price. You have to try and find some older owner, and "create" a sale. Most of the ones on the market are from people exploiting the drifting craze and the cars are overpriced for what they are.
I first purchased the car in 1989 (well, my folks bought it for me) as my first car in High School. It was $6500 back then and had 65,000 miles on it. When I sold it, it had over 200k. :D

Probably sold it for a pretty decent price.. 240 to the real wheels in that "tin can" that thing must of been a blast.. Thats awesome that you had that car so far back. It is really hard to find any GTS around now. I'll just keep my eyes open though. I have a big soft spot for toyota's, especially ones from the 80's :)

Yeah, it was a lot of fun. It was stripped won to 2,000lbs, so the power to weight was very good. One racing bucket, one passenger seat and a rollbar...

Sorry to hear that. RIP little 86
PS... where are the parts being sold?
