Yesterday I had a 10km Test Course experince with basic moves like accelerating , brakeing , turnings , accelerating at hill , reverse driving and parking. Today my teacher told me if I had no my mistake I can drive on road. I passed all test and he said lets go to road. I drived 29km on vilage to village roads :D . It was raining and 2-3Celsius :!: . Most of the time I drived at 40-45 km/h my Palio 1,2. At streights with my teachers permission I drived at 50-55 km/h. Road had alotof turns and hill climbing. It is my first road experince. I didn't drived on road before. My teacher said I drived well with no mistake. Tomorrow I will drive again in this road. I can't wait!!!!

Lessons? I thought everyone learns how to drive when they're 14 by taking out their parents car while they were out ;)

You can't learn if your parents has no car!

I think that's just him. Have fun driving. Once you get the hang of it, you'll enjoy driving.

Oh - my driving lessons, good memories...... :P

BTW, why is the minimum legal age to be able to drive in Turkey?? 'cause I see you are 21.... :? :hmm:
You have to be 18 years old for B class licence and with this licence you can drive cars minibuses(vehicle has between 8 and 15 seats) and pickups (loaded weight must be under 3500kg). But for motorcycle you must be 17 years old.
My parents don't let me to buy it before because two of my friend died in traffic accidents last couple years. I told them I am not a careless driver like them but they don't listen me. In jannuary my father sudenly changed his mind let me have a licence finally.

Hum.. I never dried in closed area before I went to the road... :D

My teacher turned to me and said... "Let's go!!"

I stared at him thinking.... "just that?? to the road?? with other cars??" and then I started the engine, and drove the best I could. The firts feeling I had was: "Damn.. the roads are so small..." :D

This is my ride. YEsterday I drived it at highway and city center. At highway I reached 70km/h and it was my fastest drive so far. Driving at city center is so fun. Stoping on red lights , alotof cars and pedestrians is really challenging when you are a rookie. I drived about 120km totally since driving lessons begin. Mondy driving lessons will continue. Can't wait!!!!

That's great. Tried harder stuff like parking etc?

Glad to hear you are having fun learning, taygunho. :good:

You have to be 17 to learn to drive a car in the UK. In the UK on your first lesson it is usually on the road, but the instructor will take you to a very quiet road or a carpark and appraise your skills.

Some people already know how to control a clutch and steer, either from taking parents cars, or from karting or other types of motorsport, or from having a 50cc motorcycle with gears at age 16.

I fell into the latter category, it took me ages to learn how to control the clutch on my Kawsaki 50, but by the time I got to age 17 I had some roadsense and was able to balance the clutch on hills and stuff.

Yes, you use the left hand on a motorcycle, and the left foot in a car, so there is some re-learning involved, but the 'feel' of the vehicle when clutch begins to engage or disengage is the same.

This is why diesel cars are so much easier to learn to drive in - more torque at tickover and less chance of stalling.

Palio that I am driving in lesson has 1,2 liter engine and it has lpg tank. You can imagine how it is hard to clim to hills or accelarting.

Yes I tried parking to garage and it was succes. But I have to try parking between cars (I think you say paralel parking).

wow good luck :D i remember when i had my first lesson, i had a HUGE smile...even though i was only doing the steering part, my instructor was doing the throttle/brake/shifting for the first 15 minutes, and then we went to a parking lot to learn how to do those things...
enjoy the rest of your lessons :)

I only learnt how to drive an auto (easier, cheaper instruction), like Daniel Craig, so currently I'm only licenced to drive autos, which kinda sucks, but come December, I'll be able to drive manuals without having to do the test again.
