The Motorsport Version of the BMW Z4 M Coupé, which has already made a big impression as a production model, is the first two-seater BMW Motorsport offers for customer teams. When it came to the development, BMW faced a huge challenge: The car had to have what is needed to race successfully on the world's most demanding and spectacular racetrack, the Nürburgring's famous Nordschleife. The new motorsport coupé can be used by private BMW customer teams in the German Endurance Championship and in the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race.
The power unit of the beefy coupe is a BMW Motorsport designed 3.2-litre in-line 6-cylinder engine delivering about 400bhp, with the suspension area in particular benefiting from the knowledge gained from the successful BMW M3 GTR project.
The kit can be ordered from May 2006 at BMW Motorsport and will be available for an estimated € 250,000 (plus VAT).
With its varied component ranges, BMW Motorsport and BMW Racing Parts Distribution offer customer teams a new technology platform for use in many miscellaneous international racing and club sport series, with the Nordschleife enthusiasts not being the only interested party, as the brawny coupe also represents the perfect car for use in the Belgian Belcar series and other, non-European, endurance series.

lol......after buying the Z4, are you thinking of going to SDA, PIPO or DELAGE in order to prepare the engine? probably theyll prepare it in an accurate way

Or RIERA Racing in Catalonia?; however, as far as I know, Riera (the company owner) only prepares the engine electronics and the suspensions as far as I know

Is it just me or does anyone else think that thing is way too expensive? I mean yes it is an awesome race car but its already based on old race technology. 3.2 Inline 6, 3 series suspension out of the GTR...foolish money
Ford had a Mustang GT fully race preppared for 75k and it was fully spec'd with 500hp

hmmmmmm looks good but dannyroz does have a point. its basically based on the GT-R just lighter but the technology isnt bad.

wow bangle made a great job. Car looks amazing.
The huge ass wing is spoiling the lines.........otherwise the aero work looks awesome
That huge ass wing is what keeping that thing on the ground.. :D ..
Looks cool but not as cool as the M3 GTR.. They should have switched the engine to a V8 with 500HP :D Then it might be worth it..

THe race series would probably complain like they did when M3 race cars had V8s.

The price for this thing is just way overtop. €250k is just NOT worth it.

Although I do agree with your point, you really can't compare the Mustang with a CSL BMW. Although I do find the 250k price tag quite hefty, especially since you can get alot more for similar money.

It's very cool. Maybe it can look even better with some unpainted carbon and CSL colour.

With regards to the styling... isn't the Z4 coupe already the work of the new designer? Van Hooydonk? If I recall correctly, the Z4 coupe is supposed to be his first work.
Is that the BMW Viper GTS :P ?? hehe

It's just you ;) - full spec series potential winning race cars are waaaaaaaaaaaaay more that $75,000 - hell, many times just the safety equipment, telemetry, hydraulic jacks and fuel cells cost close about $75,000 ;)

From some angles that wing looks hideous I hope thy contest this car in DTM bt its a 2 seater so i don't think they can sine all the DTM cars a family saloons but i would really like to see a beemer there since the unsuccessful opels have left.

overkill, kind of looses its appeal, and the nice clean lines, something in between this and regular Z4 would be harsh though

Awesome.
Would be better with the twin turbo engine that BMW is developing, or a brand new V8 maybe.
