I know this is a pretty random thing to do, but I really need some help on my chemistry webwork, so I thought of asking everyone on JW if they could help. Thanks ahead of time lol
The problem is:
Answer the following for a face centered unit cell
Answers should be numerical, r=6.0
Edge in terms of r, the lattice pt. radius
face diagonal in terms of r, the lattice pt. radius
body diagonal in terms of r, the lattice pt. radius
And here is the diagram:

haha I'm pretty confused as well, that is all the problem said. But basically, I think i'm trying to find the edge length, face diagonal length, and body diagonal length...ugh haha

its atom designed by u or is just a know substance ?
all i know, we used tables ,where i can find all informations about specific substance, molary weight, concetration and so on,

Assuming the balls are touching on the face.
face diagonal: a^2 + a^2 = (4r)^2, solve for a
body diagonal: (4r)^2 + a^2 = b^2, solve for b, knowing 'a' from previous result.
Just a guess! If not, don't kill me!
