after mounting the harnesses, I had to go for a test...I finally ended on the small roads around the lake of Zurich. The view was really cool with the snow, but not better than my speedy... 8)

I'm curious, do you use the speedster often? I suppose it's not your everyday car, is it?
Is it the 2.0T or the 2.2?
Superb car btw. Light and fun!

It's basically the Lotus Elise chassis so RWD. A true drivers car!

Oh man, go-cart like machine on snowy roads  If its your daily car than you have balls, just enering the car with roof on is a nice physical excersise, not talking about getting out :)

Surely, better a tight responsive car than some lumbering RWD SUV (are we slipping? who knows, cant feel it, oh we're pointing the other way, hwo did that happen etc)

Very nice pictures Hamlet, it's always a pleasure for me to see your street legal Go-Kart with the beautiful landscape of Switzerland for background. :D
Driving with his summer rims set in winter is the the dream of several Quebecers. But, I'm surprised to see all that snow, because there's much more snow than I thought in Zurich surroundings.

@ all => Yes, this is my everyday's car!! and yes it is quite hot to drive on the cold and snowy roads. To help me a bit, I fitted winter tires on the rear wheels but not on the front ones because of the funny size.
@ 1zippo1 => it is a "simple" 2.2L but for my driving skills I must say that the 147cv for the 850kg are largely enough to scare me in some cases...
@ Carrera_GTcrazy => no pb for the ride, you are welcome...only if you bring with you your top camera to make some pics!
@ Schwalbe => Yeh man, It snowed the last days and we've got a lot everywhere. It is also pretty cold at that time but as you can see I continue my go-kart training to gain a few seconds next time we go racing in Montreal...

That's really brave to use it as a daily driver, certainly concerning the winter conditions in the Alps. Anyway nice pics!

will the modifications include tuning the engine? :P

no not at the moment. I just try to improve a bit the handling of the car and a lot my drving skills before doing anything to the engine...But I can tell you that there is enough power to have fun !! :P

Nice pics :)
Man, today was an awesome day, so warm, great top down driving day
I met a lot of convertibles with the top down as well, other SLK's, 3 series BMW's, a few 360 Spiders, Z4's and Z3's, French cars... no Lotus based car's tho'... they must have been in the mountains :)

here is a "spy shot" taken in the garage while waiting for the next mods...
http://img136.exs.cx/img136/3579/myspeedy103a8xr.jpg
In fact, I mounted a new set of rims from ATS (germany) which are around 2kg lighter each than the originals. In addition, I fitted a set of semi-slicks Toyo tires in 205/40R17 on the front and 235/40R17 on the rear.
The behaviour of the car is now just amazing  the understeering completely desappeared and the steering is terribly precise. I did not pushed to much yet but one can already feel the high "cornering potential" of the machine
I am now waiting for shorter springs to lower a bit more the car. I think after that it will definitely stick to the road!!
I will make some more pics once everything will be completed
cheers[/list]

HI GUYS,
finally I got it yesterday evening, with the new short springs mounted...and I like it!!
The result look really good IMO, not too low, not too wide, just 8)
Some pics of the final result:

and as planned, I can still enter the garage for a few millimeters..

That is now the end of this modification I wanted to do for a while. Next stage is about the breaks, but most probably at the end of the year (for my Christmas!!) with new discs and new calipers... some more to come!
As I told you elsewhere, :good: top stuff, I really like it now :) it always was a nice car, but sligtly lowered and with new wheels it's much better

this modification fits perfectly the design of the car... the wheels are also nice...
but i think you shouldn't have stuck the ATS logo on the car... it's (too) much "tuning style" than sport style...

The father of one of my best friedns is an important person in Opel Spain, ive been riding ( as copilot ) many times the corvette and the speedster ( this drove by me ), the first version, 150 bhp, 750 kg. I really liked this car, in fact it was very very funny to drive it, BUT IVE FOUND A PROBLEM!! THE SEATS ARE SO SMALL!! I DONT FIT ON IT AND WSNT COMFORTABLE FOR ME... ITS NOT FOR BIG PEOPLE!! Maybe i need a speedster truck LOL!
