pandora basically will find music similar to whatever music you enter in the "station". It's a great way to find new artists that you like

I prefer LastFm (ex-audioscrobbler). You download a simple plug in for winamp/WMP etc. Everytime you listn to as song the plugin sends info to the database and displays your staitistics on your personal www. Judging by what you listen to the database finds your "neighbours"- people with similair music taste. You can look at what they have been listening to lately and also listen to their radiostation. I've discovered quite a few great bands via this program.

Thats pretty cool. I have a friend thats used LastFM, but I thought it just displayed what you listened too online. Didn't know it also found similar music. Very cool :D
