i´ve to admit, i never liked Ferrari that much, but recently they came up with two superb cars, the 360CS and, of course, the Enzo...
here`s a kinda nice, scientific article on the Enzo´s engine, the marvellous F140 B...

Well they can always drop few to many gears and make the engine reach 15000rpm.....

computer wont allow that to happen. it wont downshift if the downshift will cause the rpms to pass redline.

Sure the computer will. All that gearbox is, is a clutchles sequential gearbox. But instead of having a lever it has paddles. It just like an F1 car. You can shift down as many gears as you want and it will let the revs pass the red line.

Remeber your in control and you can shift gears how ever you want. All the computer does in that car is work the clutch and blip the throttle on downshifts.

actually the F1 gearbox won't downshift if it's going to overrev. that's true for the road cars as well as the F1 cars.

I'm more then sure that it will ret over rev. HOw do I know?
1) Seen plenty of on board vidoes of the F1 360 were the guy downshifted early and I could here the engine scream out 900rpm.

2) When I was with SBDT and we did 360Challenge, all of the gearbox data we got let the engine over rev.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you're right. I remember reading specifically that the Enzo's box did not allow over-revving as it was street biased. However, it does let you choose the "wrong" gear and hold it right to redline (even bouncing off the limiter).

When you're quickly downshifting a couple of gears with an F1-style transmission like the Enzo's, it's easy to press the left paddle one time too much and that way blow and ruin the engine. So I can't imagine that Ferrari hasn't built in some sort of fool proof in the Enzo's computer to prevent this from happening, especially since it's an extremely expensive engine...

BMW has built a similar fool proof system into the M3 SMGII.
