So i built a new computer recently and i had enough parts left over to turn my old one into a media center that i was goin to use a a dvr type thing. So i had to buy an old video car with composite out and i got a tv wonder pro. So after about 10hrs of installing and uninstalling drivers and getting it networked to my new pc. It was finally working great, i could watch tv thru it and record shows and whatever. So i move it out to my family room where it will live, plug it in and the HD cluster fucks itself. Now all it does is spin up then spin right back down and just does that over and over. So thats pretty upsetting. Luckily i didnt lose data just time and money.

Thats pretty shitty dude :( Good that no data was lost but damn, nothing like getting all excited with finishing a new project and having it go caput
Did you just lose one drive? What size?

HDs are cheap enough. . . keep an eye out for deals. www.bensbargains.net is a great website. I usually like to go with Seagate, 5 Year warranty. To me, it shows the confidence they have in their product.

Stay away from Maxtor (which Seagate just bought out). They are a bit cheaper, but not worth the risk. I learned twice the hard way.
