This section isn't very lively is it? :D

Anyway, today sadly Martina didn't make it against Kim Clijsters, but bloody hell! Kim is world's second best player, maybe even 1st after the Australian Open! Martina stopped playing years ago and this was her first Grand Slam after the come back!

She still has such a touch! Precise, with a perfect vision of the game, like when she left the courts, she isn't powerfull at all, no big serve, nothing like most of today's players. But like back then, today she is still able to match the top ladies with her art!
In many ways she is similar to Federer, an artist with a gift, but IMO Martina is even more impressive and to reach the 1/4 finals in a Grand Slam she entered obviously with a WC, and showing the can easily beat any other player outside the top 10 made me so damn happy!
She plans to play a lot now to get the feelings back and I am sure she will soon win a tournament, and probably another Grand Slam!

She really did very well and it's nice to see one of the best female players ever, on the court again and happy to be there!

Oh BTW, I always thought she was pretty sexy and she sill is :D, which can't be bad :D

;)

She can be pretty hot, but never really liked her face. Although she looks better now than a few years back.

Martin Hingis? I assume that is Martina's husband? :P

Seriously, it is good to see her back and it would've been a nice fairytale if she mad e it all the way in the Aussie Open.

Oh and I also think shes a little bit hot.

Yeh, I admit maybe her face isn't the best, but if I'd have to hit a tennis player today I think it would be Martina instead of all those 2 meters tall russians ;)

BTW, what a 3rd set Federer took home right now

I'm really glad that Martina is back. Very entertaining to watch and what a fight she put up against Clijsters. I'm confident she will be top 10 in a year.

You are right TT, amazing set and I know you are swiss but Davydenko really deserved that third set.

Yup, he probably deserved it, but well Roger is a fucking machine and could probably cancel 100 break balls before giving up! Davydenko is really a good player and in top shape atm, but Federer is just in unreal! It must be a good challenge to play against him, but kinda frustrating too :D
And I doubt Davidenko could survive 5 sets :D he already covered probably 200 miles today :D

Martina Hingis is my favourite tennis player. I'm glad she is back.I think she will have her old world no:1 performance in one year. Then I will watch all grand slams like before.

it's nice to see another good swiss player back on the court. i think her performance at the australian open is not too bad i guess she'll show us much more later this year.
i saw her last autumn at the zurich open when she worked there for a tv station. i had a vip pass cause the ticket system was from my company. so i had the chance to see all behind it. and on the way trough the stadium we met martina, really a cute person.

btw i parked right besides her yellow 996 turbo.... what a ride!

Not too bad? It's fucking brilliant. She got a wild card and put Clijsters to the test in the quarterfinal.

LOL, I guess she changed all the basic 911 she won in Stuttgart (even before she could drive) into a proper Turbo

edit: Roger won 6:4, 3:6, 7:6 (9:7), 7:6 (7:5) after a real fight, I'll have to see a summary tonight :D

YAY for Roger, it was worth watching the match live! Very close one!

As for Martina's turbo, I'd like pics of it (of course an upskirt while entering or leaving the car would do too ;)). And I am sure she has a couple more nice ones, at least at her crib in the US ;)

I know - she's still an ugmo

Good body - but her face is like hammered shit :?

"hammered shit"? Not much different from unhammered shit, really.

I read she just won a singles tournament. She also won the mixed doubles at the Aus Open.

Uhm.. she didn't won a single tournament yet.. she reached the finals in Tokyo (furst final after her comeback) but lost sadly :( still, she is already back in the top 50 :!:

Absolutely correct TT. But she did beat Sharapova in the semi with 6-3 6-1 and that's quite impressive. My prediction is she'll be in the Top 10 at the end of 2006.

The fact she is playing like crazy with no breaks whatsoever between a tournament and the other could be a problem.. I doubt she is already back at 100% physically and she could end up pretty tired for the second half of the season! Still, looking forward for her first victory and for Rolland Garros or anyway the slower surfaces because she isn't really suited for hyper quick courts like Tokyo's

I don't think top 10 is likely, but surely top 30 is likely; even top 25 or 20 could be realistic.

TT

Uhm.. you can really name 20+ ladies which could be in front of her even atm? I can't

Why not? She has already put Clijsters to the test and beaten Sharapova. Well I guess only time will tell who's right. That's me btw :D

It depends everything on her motivation, instinct and ambition, I mean, I believe that a sport god (such as Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Ronaldinho, Maradona,.....) are capable of everything, even though theyve had some sabatic years thoroughout their career, and Monica Seles and Martina Hingis are not an exception, so see what happens, although I believe that Martina will reach the top 10 list

Mattk

Well it's still too early to tell. I'd say she could realistically get to somewhere between 11 and 15, but not much further. I wonder what she herself realistically aims for.
