i recently heard a story about M.S. using a HUD a couple years ago before it was banned, or ruled out... and that he was the only driver doing it; possibly the only one capable of doing it. i was told he said something like 'fighter pilots do it, so why cant i'

the other teams seem to have a tremendous amount of respect for him, and think its going to be a long time before somebody as talented, and intellegent as he is comes around again. the ability of this guy to multi-task is above even the the next best drivers.

does anybody know any more about this?

I dont think this has happened yet. on one of the Allianz sponsor GP previews, they were talking about this feature in that you could pproject a hologram of a safety flag or an image of an accident ahead on the track to let the driver know what is happening. Ralf was interviewed and thought it was a good idea. So I suspect you arefering about this feature but it is the other Schumacher

thats interesting; however, i'm speaking of something from a few years ago; and it was definately referring to Michael, not Ralf

i think you are referring to this; the story i'm hearing sounds like the right time period; but the wrong team/driver... and i was told was a farily complicated system, compared to that story.

well of course it's going to be alot more complicated than explained here  Is it possible you heard Schumacher whenever you first heard it and maybe your brain decided while the memory was dormant it would switch Schumachers on you?

well, it could only add to the weight of the car, and the FIA doesn't monitor the info going to the driver from the team.

here is an article about a Robert Schumacher talking abouta HUD lol :P

100% sure this is not the case... and even if Ferrari never published anything of the sort; this comes from a guy who works with the Mild 7 team (oh, and Flabio somkes Marlboro Lights in a Mild 7 pack )
