Going Vegas to rent sportscars

Have a conference in Mexico in June, I really don’t care for that but I will to go to Vegas afterwards to rent sportscars to cain through Death Valley, one of my “things to do” list before I die.

Have to pick 3 cars, because that about how much I’m willing to spend.

Cars on my list at the moment,
1. Corvette Z06
2. Dodge Viper
3. Porsche 911

Was thinking of replacing one of these cars with either a M3 or Lotus Elise. But I cant go to Vegas without driving one American car.

Which (affordable) 3 cars would you guys choose? Around the $300 US mark? Any comments most welcome :)

Umm, I am not sure about rentals in Vegas. I know that they are all over the stripe though. Aren't most of them limited by mileage?

I would definitely get something exotic though, M3 and Elise really aren't in that territory. Between the Viper and the Z06, I would go for the Viper to drive around town, but to own I think the Z06 would be better.

How about a Ferrari?

I hope you realize lv isn't exactly close to mexico and you wont be able to leave the state with any of those rentals.. They might not even rent to you cause your not from this country.

Now that Im done being a party pooper, ID rent a 355.

All of these cars will have mileage restrictions on them. So if you want to do some sightseeing then budget around $500-600 including insurance and miles and you should be good to go.

Also, particularly on the Vette make sure they have manual transmissions. A lot of these agencies rent automatics to catch the posuer crowd. An auto Chevy is no fun for sure.

In Vegas being out of the country won't matter.. all you'll need is money..

$350 seems cheap, but they will rape you for putting miles on the car..

I'd go with the Z06 if you're on a budget, 355 if you can afford it..

for the money i'll go with the AC Shelby Cobra for $279 or the Z06 $300. ferrari's and lambos are out of the question for me.

edit: i notice that the AC was replica, but still.

I'd love to drive the 355 but its way out my budget. even 5 hours 75 miles and $1 per mile after that!!!?

I have to drive an american in vegas, just to get the whole experience IMO

I'll be flying from Mexico to Vegas, so no problems there. Have to look at the fine print like getting insurance, which I'm still not sure about. I would want to drive quite a bit there in a Viper and Z06 :D
and yes have to double check that its manual.

AC Shelby Cobra, I saw that, it be cool but the brakes I'm worried about, I want something with modern safty standards.

Remember the AC Cobra is a replica, not the real thing.

I think the Viper is waaaay more exotic than the Z06 though. But the Z06 is much more of a daily drive, like I said in this situation, I would definitely go Viper!

Go with the RT roadster. Cruising the Las Vegas Strip at night was fun even when I was driving a Dodge Intrepid. The amount of lights at night is awesome, and driving the strip in the day is cool too.

If i were you I would pick f355 but $500 for 5 hours + $75 for free miles higher than your budget.
