   I am not as bad as ae86_16v, but I also have a shity connection: about 35$ for a 300 kb/s speed :?
They are supposed to double the speed here too, but I don't know when :|

Just had our present for the new year from my ISP.
They've upgraded the connection from 10mbit to 20mbit.
My current downloadspeeds are something like this:
I only pay 40 dollars US a month for 6mbit...

60 euro is kind of expensive compared to 22usDollars over here. Of course, I get 600kb/sec instead of 2mb but its fast enough.
I'm on 2mbit currently, but should be upgrading to NTL 10mbit soon - it's the usage restrictions, such as 75gb max per month that worry me :bah:

I'm only on 1mbit at the moment, but i've got completely unlimited bandwidth and a 1 month contract period (as apposed to 12 for almost anyone else)
I doubt i'll be upgrading until 8/10mbit is standard around britain which hopefully it should be within 2 years ;)

Well, i have reguallaryl done in excess of 100GB (down) in a month, and haven't been contacted yet - not that many people are connected to NTL in my area, so i guess my high usage cannot be detrimental to others.
2mbit is fine, but i crave a faster UL speed - cable has to be the way, as i live too far away from my ADSL exchange to get anything over 2mbit
If they cut me off after upgrading (don't know when i'll get the option) i'll connect to a 2mbit ADSL service, and things will be back to normal for a while

^^You know it always strikes me as weird that people get dinged for usage and capped in the UK.
For the most part IVe yet to find a service here that caps.
I guess they just do things differently for some reason.

well, its more an AUP - acceptable use policy - but i believe repeat offenders will be brought down to a 600k service, with no cap :bah: Let's see how rigid NTL make their "cap" :bah:
And trust me - i wish we had a lot of things from the US, like cheap fuel/cars/etc... but it isn't to be :(
