Does this mean that eventually the 3rd world will lose out on photography?

There are not exactly that many places able to p-rovide/service/sell or even use , print and charge your digital camera and accesories in Africa.

It has to be said that digital cameras have got to the point where they can do everything a film camera can do and more whilst being more user friendly, cheaper and quicker, it had to come sooner or later....

The only thing old style cameras have going for them is the whole process of taking the shot to developing them in the darkroom.... it will soon be something we only read about in text books within a decade or two.

They still sell gasoline in some African countries in glass gallon bottles - from road side tables... digital anything has no use in these societies - what's happening is a new dark age is being entered into as the gap between the populaitons of haves nad have-nots is widening more than ever.

it's easier to make a group sized molitov cocktail for the riots that way :P

in someways i envy those societies. technology is nice and all, but you have to admit, without it, Micro$haft never would have come about
