This great film revolves around gunrunner Yuri Orlov. Basically, it charts the rise to infamy of this fictitious (but fact-based) bloke and his associated life. It starts off extremely funny - Cage's narration is simply brilliant. However, after marrying the sexy Bridget Moynahan, his brother's (Jared Leto) sudden moral enlightenment, and subsequent death, forces Orlov to face the moral consequences of his actions (not that he stops).

The plot is great and focuses on a few things: Orlov's relationship with his brother; his battle with Ethan Hawke's Agent Jack Valentine (of Interpol, or someplace like that); his relationship with his wife and kid; and his relationship (often hilarious), with Liberian dictator Andre Baptiste (who is hilarious - he tends to say words wrongly, eg warlord as lord of war - he prefers it his way), and his crazy son Andre Jr.

The acting is superb, led by Cage, who really comes into his own in the narration. Leto is brilliant as the druggie younger Orlov, Eamonn Walker plays Baptiste well, Hawke is brilliant as the harassed and frustrated Valentine, and Moynahan, well, she just looks good.
