^^^ so at first there was the 635 CSi... and then, for only one year, there was the M6??

yeah. The 633 and 635. There was also an L6 just before the M6

Such a nice car, and I love BMW with the hood opening like this instead of the modern way :)

I'm confused I didn't knew a E24 M6 existed. I guess these did only exist in the US? Cause I've a BMW nutted friend who bought himself a E24 635CSi as his ultimate 6 series. If a M6 would have existed overe here he would have gone for that one I presume.

I don't know if it was US only or not. I want to say it wasn't. As i said though, they are extremely rare having lasted only 1 year. The E24 didn't do quite as well as BMW would have liked.

He ay be able to find one if he really, really scours.

^ Z is correct. In fact the M6 was North America only. The 635CSi and the M6 were actually the same car with different badges. :D

Are you sure? The M6 had the bulletproof S38. An engine that only went into M cars. the CSi would have had a normal engine with a 5spd gear box IIRC

reading that link really makes it sound the the M6 ran longer than 1988, which if you look at my thread, and in Supercarfreak's STEP thread, you'll see that BMW lists it as only being a 1 year run. One of his pics with all his books has the sheet with it listed in plain view.

Yeah, that link looked like it ran for 2 years. "NA (LHD with cat): 1,767 built from 09/86 thru 09/88"

And the different between the S38 and the M88 was only the cats and the US emission requirements. :)

Wow, 58k miles only for a 1988 car, that is awesome. Car is prefect, nothing needs to be done to it! Keep it clean :good: .
