I bought it today in Apple store (not at PC World as I thought) together with the charger and cover. I left there 336 GBP :?
it has great and quite big screen (I was expecting smaller) with 320x240pix, nice and sharp and vids are smooth on it. player is just briliant, better than my previous mp3 player... and when I come to Czech week after next, there are Koss Porta Pro waiting for me (they were on the lifetime guaranty service), so the sound will be even much better

here are some pics (first ones you could see in another thread)
here is the unpacking procedure
when I brought it home

as you can see, there is still the protection film on it, so I don't want to get it scratched...

Please thake the plastic cover off it - you bought the iPod to use - not to spend your time with it worrying about scratches!

Nice to see you got vids on it so soon - what did you use to convert, and did it take a long time?

I'll be busy by taking pics of supercars at showroom, so I don't care

no, no way :prr: I bought the silicone cover for it anyway, so it's double protected

I used the old program "mpeg X4 live" which I used for converting vids for my mobile before. easy, fast and without the logo on the screen 8)
3 minutes long video takes about 20 secs to convert, but that depends on your comp more

Indeed - that's a very cool iPod!! not only for the black... but for the 60gb capacity and the fact that you can store pics and vids!! :P Congrats for the buy MIHALS - you won't feel disapointed at all!!

thanx dani, I'm very happy with it actually :D ....
I already have all my music in it (14GB) and have LOADS of free space left for pics and some short vids :)

The silicone cover is a sensible option.

The vid converter sounds good too. I'll remember that if i ever get my hands on one of these beauties :)

Nice toy - thinking about joining the darkside myself - really find it useful? How's the quality?

it really is usefull to me. I walk everyday 1hour to and another hour from work, so I won't get tired listen to one song twice :D ... another point is that your mood is changing during the day and that means, that you want to listen to something else in the afternoon and having all the music with you in your pocket is the best way how to improve your bad mood  then there's pics or even vids. when it's raining, I can go by bus and watch some TG tests  for me it really IS useful machine and I will use it really a lot and often :D

the quality is another side. I have it just for few hours, so I can't tell. but it seems to be a really tough box with precise conrtolling and I just love that touch-sensitive-ring. everything is so fast! even rolling through all the music list takes just few moments - longer you rotate the wheel-faster you get to the end (if you understand...)

(no, I'm not apple PR  )

im thinking about getting a 30 gig. good idea or no?it depends how big your mp3 library is and how much you getting new music....

I have more than 20GB of music at the moment and I really don't want to be short on space next year and buying new iPod with bigger HDD (in the future) is impossible now :?

another thing is that 60GB battery lasts longer than 30GB (by users in forums)

the result is just on you

looks cool! Is that ipod supposed to be as fragile as the nano's screen?

I don't want to try and even think about it :?

I have no experience with previous iPods, so I don't know. but in forums they say it's more though than predecesors (fingers crossed)

I used PSP video 9 for that - the PSP is now sold though, so i got rid of the program

I've just looked at the apple site to see what formats are required on the pod, and it is .mp4 - i should have known that
